Reviews

9.8 Chelsea Court Place has a Review Score of 9.8 (9.817)

The Review Score of 9.8 (maximum of 10) for Chelsea Court Place is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Chelsea Court Place in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.817 for Chelsea Court Place is calculated as follows: ( (68 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 82 Ratings = 4.817

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chelsea Court Place is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 3 positive Reviews (15 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 7 Reviews ÷ 3 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My mother originally entered Chelsea Court Place as a temporary resident, however, she and I have decided that she should stay permanently as she is so settled and content. All the staff are extremely kind, patient and gentle and there is an exceptionally friendly rapport between them and the residents. This all contributes to the sense of community and camaraderie and the relaxed atmosphere that bears little resemblance to the institutional care home model. The focus on dementia means that whilst residents are safe, there is no sense of them being locked away as in so many other homes. There are wide variety of activities on offer including excursions to the theatre and museums. Every effort has been made to tailor my mother's life to her interests and personality. The food is exceptionally good and my mother (and I!) have even learnt how to make sushi. I feel extremely fortunate and grateful to have such a lovely place around the corner.

My Sister cleverly found Chelsea Court Place and I moved my Mother in, in November 2017 with great fear and trepidation. Mummy settled in very well as the second resident there, she was spoilt with the ratio of carers to residents.

The atmosphere could not be nicer, the caring staff super attentive and cheerful, the chefs absolutely incredible at creating beautiful plates and balanced meals, the nurses very easy to talk to and open and frank about medical concerns, and all administrators bend over backwards to help and make time to talk to us. I feel this is because it is small and therefore well controlled.

Dogs are welcome to visit which is very therapeutic. The variety of activities provided are impressive. To go and join everyone for lunch is a joy. In fact, the whole feel of Chelsea Court Place is more 'home from home' than a care home. The fact that you can drop in at any time of day or evening is also important. Chelsea Court Place has removed a huge burden of worry and admin which is a relief and god send.

We felt extremely fortunate to find Chelsea Court Place, which is warm, welcoming, and beautifully designed. It's professional connections with cutting-edge Alzheimer's and dementia care are impressive and interweave seamlessly with the caring attitudes of all members of staff. Every attempt is made to help maintain the individual identity and integrity of its residents.
Activities and special events abound; there is always something on offer. Family members are encouraged to visit often, and to enjoy the delicious and visually stimulating meals enjoyed by the residents; they form an "extended family" which is constantly updated about CCP news and events. We were eased through the difficult decision of moving my husband into residential care, but both his and my well-being have improved tremendously since he arrived, thanks to the positive and helpful attitude of everyone there.

Chelsea Court Place is unique, more like a vast luxury penthouse flat than a care home. My mother moved in after struggling to cope on her own some distance from us. With their help, we decorated her sunny room with her treasured possessions. Nothing was too much trouble and the move was less stressful for her with their warm welcome and help. Now she is in a small secure eclectic community with amazing care and medical support. She settled in quickly, loving the amazing food, spacious communal areas, and tailored activities for her by the easy going professional staff. Its central location allows for easy shopping and excursions so her independence has not been compromised. The family and I drop by anytime, join her and her new friends for lunch, take her out whenever she feels like it, and are always welcomed warmly by all. She feels safe and is joyful again, we feel relaxed, she is closer to us and Chelsea Court a lovely new home for us all.

If you are thinking about Care Homes, Chelsea Court Place probably won't fit into your expected image. It is everything other care homes aren't. It is small and very stylish; it is bright, wecolming, warm. It has a great atmosphere and great facilities (only 15 rooms, library, private dining room, spa, quiet room, garden room, excellent food etc). But above all it has a real Can-Do approach to everything. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are charming and helpful. You feel you can ask anything. As a relative reluctantly handing over a resident to their care, one's worries are totally allayed by the evidence that they are in safe, trustworthy and professional hands. Two months experience of CCP has meant two worry-free months all round. So far it has been a godsend.

Heaven or at least close to it! It is always a difficult time when you move from your own home but Chelsea have made this as painless as possible. The individual attention makes this a very special place and they go out of their way to create activities to stimulate the residents. While some may focus on price...this place is worth every penny. If you are reading this and thinking about it, you better move fast as there are only 15 slots!
