Greenwood Court Great Baddow

My father has lived in this care home since July 2026 and I could not recommend it more highly. The staff are attentive and friendly, the rooms are spacious and well decorated and the catering is superb.

My father takes part in many activities and outings and very much enjoys the outdoor space and gardens.

A superb place and I'm very confident in the care they give my Dad.

My mum recently celebrated her 99th birthday having been in Greenwoods for over 7 years. All the team helped to make her day so special: from dressing her nicely for us to collect her for her birthday outing to greeting her with a beautiful birthday cake and smiles when we arrived back at tea time. As her family we are so pleased to know she is so well cared for and happy. Thank you all.

Dad was first in Greenwood Court for respite but after a brief time at home, he really missed the community and care that he had experienced there so asked to become a permanent resident. The staff go out of their way to make his life as easy as possible. Dad was in hospital with a broken hip and leg and was desperate to go "home" as he calls it so Greenwood Court assessed him and took him back to the care home as soon as they were able. Dad has such an improved quality of life being at Greenwood Court. The food is very good quality and there is always something going on. He is bed bound at the moment but the staff go out of their way to get him in a wheelchair so that he can eat his meals with the other residents. The men have a mans club every Thursday which dad really enjoys too. Nothing is too much trouble for the team who are always visible and available if and when Dad needs them. Dads room is spacious and the gardens are lovely. We can't thank the staff enough.

Just a good around atmosphere.

Mum was in Greenwood Court for respite following a broken hip. She was well cared for and the facilities were generally excellent. The only notable issue was the TV system in her bedroom that needed the TV control and Satellite control to operate - confusing for an elderly person, and so limiting her used of the TV. The staff were caring, helpful and friendly and she also made good used of the visiting external physiotherapist who got her walking again. The bistro area is a great social place - made it feel a real community. Security good - although when power failed and all doors locked this was worrying to mum. In summary a lovely care home and community.

A home from home with all of my husbands needs taken into account and generally an excellent experience. My husbands complex needs require patience and skill and both are given generously. Both the medical and administration members of staff have a family attitude and, therefore, I never feel concerned if I need to make a suggestion or change anything.

My m.i.l has now become used to being a care home resident and is very happy with her life there. Throughout we have been very happy with the home's staff both the management and the care departments. The atmosphere in the home is very welcoming and friendly. The level of care is excellent.

His care plan is regularly reviewed and discussed with me as his L.P.A.

The gardens are looking beautiful. It is so important for residents to have somewhere to sit and spend some time outside. It is lovely to take loved ones for a walk and sit outside and admire the flowers. A lot of work has been put in to make sure an improvement to the gardens. My brother enjoys the gardens so much. Thank you.

My wife received excellent care and attention from all the staff as did our family when they visited. First class.

My mum has been in the care home for a number of years. She has been very happy here. All the staff are very caring and helpful. The resident rooms on the ground floor include a spacious wet room/bathroom which is exceptionally good. My mum also loves her own patio and garden and she has enjoyed many outdoor and indoor activities. The home is very welcoming to all visitors and the staff are very efficient and kind. Medical care was exceptional recently when my mum was ill. Thank you to everyone for making my mum happy in the home.

Good care. Very good food, well presented. Excellent catering staff. The carers on duty in the lounges could have more interactions with the residents when no organised activities are taking place. Activities have been very good but with the organiser leaving, I hope the home can recruit someone as enthusiastic and reactive.

Care for my Mother has been fantastic. Staff are always responsive and so kind and caring to help Mum to be comfortable as she has been bed bound since October 2024. Home and gardens are well kept and welcoming. Thank you

I visit my mother twice a week and the staff are always friendly and welcoming, updating me on what mum has been up to and how she is. The staff are very patient and kind with mum who is often confused and repetitive.

The home is spotlessly clean, the meals look and smell lovely, I haven't eaten there myself. They do their best to include all the residents in the various activities and are looking after my mother well.

My only slight criticism is that the chairs in the residents lounges could be more appropriate for the older generation.

My overall experience was excellent. I was shown warmth, caring and understanding by management and staff. They were most welcoming. The facilities were excellent, including a hairdresser, cinema, library and coffee lounge. The entertainment was excellent, especially during the Christmas and New Year periods. The food was excellent with variety and my special requests. My husband was made welcome to visit me at any time.

My brother is a resident. We visited from America during a Nuro outbreak, the staff were amazing, took fantastic care of us during our visits. They obviously care very much for the residents, he loves them. I can't express how much I appreciate them. You as a company probably don't even realise what a wonderful group of people you have.

We couldn't thank Greenwood Court enough for their services over the course of my mum's respite stay. We were welcomed upon arrival and made to feel comfortable up until the day Mum left. The activities over the Christmas period were outstanding, they included carol services, quizzes, bingo and much more - which my mum was thrilled about! The staff are always very positive and the home itself has great amenities, including a cinema, activities room and gardens. The rooms are immaculate and custom to your own. We are extremely thankful for the short turnaround of respite and the overall experience at Greenwood Court. Highly recommend.

This is my home and I enjoy being here. The staff are very friendly, they look after me very well.

Unfortunately, it seems very understaffed with a high turnover of care staff. Getting through by phone evenings and weekends is quite challenging.
