My father-in-law moved into Brackley Nursing Home in February 2024 where he continues to be extremely settled and very comfortable. When we were looking for a home we were advised to 'not be swayed by glitz and gloss' and I am delighted to confirm Brackley Care Home offers a fabulous setting, a low
turnover of staff and fabulous home management. Daddy is treated as an individual and his various and ever changing needs both health and personal are managed and addressed very very well. Brackley Care Home have done a great job in keeping a close check on his health and helping us to manage frequent NHS appointments and admissions. For myself and my husband, we feel all the staff really care for Daddy and we feel happy him being there. Not to mention, we love visiting, it is comfortable for us and we always feel welcome and have joined him for meals which is a lovely thing to be able to do. The activities they offer are brilliant and there are always fun activities happening to keep him interested and stimulated.

I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did for my Mother. They were all superb!
The manager is exceptional; she has such empathy and understanding for both the residents and the families.
All the staff we met were respectful, and kind and obviously cared so much for the residents.
I
looked at a few care homes before I decided on this one because it stood out head and shoulders above any of the others. I can highly recommend it!

Brackley Care Home did my mum a lot of good and I believe gave her three extra years of life. I used to enjoy visiting her, as we would have a good gossip and a laugh, something we had struggled to do before, when she lived by herself in her own home, with no help. She told me repeatedly that she felt
safe, cared for and loved in the care home. She knew she wasn't alone, with someone always on hand if she needed help or support.
Reply from Stephanie Eley, Manager at Brackley Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to express your positive experience of Brackley Care Home. It's lovely to hear your mum felt safe with us. Our family member was in Brackley Care Home for end-of-life care for nearly 2 weeks. We could not have wished for a nicer environment for him and he was given the best care and attention by all members of staff. You get the impression that they are all one big family. They are all so helpful and cheery
and everywhere is bright and beautifully decorated. We only wish all care homes were as nice.
Reply from Stephanie Eley, Manager at Brackley Nursing HomeThank you immensely for taking the time to share your experience at Brackley Care Home. We are deeply touched by your kind words and are truly honoured to have been entrusted with the care of your family member during such a sensitive time. My sister came to the home from the hospital requiring full nursing care and rehabilitation. With the care, support and encouragement from the wonderful team (nurses, carers, catering staff and management) she has made wonderful progress. It is fantastic to see her back on her feet, re-energised and
joining in the various activities.

My husband arrived at Brackley Care Home from hospital needing full nursing care. He has taken time to settle down but all the staff, from the customer relations manager, at the top, to the cleaning staff, have been lovely and very helpful in a stressful situation. We can fault the care my husband has
received and are very pleased he is with you. The home is also a very nice place to visit.

I came to visit my friend who moved in on the 15th of January 2024, unfortunately, her health took a turn for the worse upon arrival. Your staff in all departments have been absolutely wonderful. The male nurse caring for my friend went above and beyond in her care. I was made to feel welcome at all
times and found all but one member of staff so helpful.

My mother was admitted to the home at relatively short notice (27th December 2023). For my mother and myself, it was a lifesaver as my mother's condition (dementia) had deteriorated suddenly and she had been unable to stand or walk. This home in Brackley is lovely and we are lucky to have it here. I
can only say that so far mine and my mother's experience has been exemplary. It has gained an excellent reputation, which I wholly back up.

I visited a friend a number of times in both April and October 2023 whilst she was staying for respite care. I was very impressed by the number of staff on duty, their cheerful attitude and the attentive care being provided. Rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished, very clean with immaculate
ensuite bathrooms. Meals look and smell appetising. Adequate time is taken to help those who cannot feed themselves and to preserve their dignity whilst doing so. Overall I consider Brackley Care Home the best I have visited.

Mum has been a resident for more than one year now and we could not have wished for a better home to care for her nursing requirements and for her general wellbeing. The friendly staff create a warm and welcoming environment and the lounges and bedrooms are light and airy. Mum particularly enjoys the
daily sparkle meeting in the lounge where everyone comes together to discuss the news and topics of the day. She is very happy there.

Brackley Care Home is a modern care home, clean and, in my experience, very well run. The entrance atrium is like that of a grand modern hotel. The home had good access for the disabled, those in wheelchairs (as I am one currently). The extensive gardens are paved in level wheelchair-friendly level
paving, and there are extra garden furniture tables and chairs for residents to enjoy the sun/get some fresh air. The care staff are only a bell press away, day and night. I would recommend this home to others who need a care home place on a temporary or permanent basis.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.898)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.898) out of 10 for Brackley Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 66 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 65 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.898 for Brackley Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (717 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 778 Ratings = 4.898
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brackley Nursing Home is based on 65 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 65 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Customer Relationship Manager

I come from South Africa where I worked in a customer-facing role within the horse racing industry for many years. I have been at Brackley Care Home almost since the day it opened in November 2020 and love absolutely everything about my role. The close human interaction is what I thrive on and I strive to deliver exceptional customer service whilst building on and developing strong interpersonal relationships with our residents, our families, our staff and our visitors to the home as well as to the wider Brackley community. In my spare time, I enjoy visiting National Trust properties, exercising, reading and doing cross-stitch.

Job Title: Administrator

My name is Emma, and I am the Administrator at Brackley Care Home. I have always worked in customer-focused roles and find the Healthcare Industry in particular, very rewarding. I have worked with the organization for over two years now and am looking to further my education and skills by undergoing an NVQ in Business Administration & also Leadership and Management. One of the things I love about working here is the atmosphere - Everyone cares and supports one another, and the staff all work incredibly hard. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, cooking and sometimes painting. I’m also very interested in Interior Design.
