Although unhappy about leaving home she was eventually persuaded to move to Broomfield Village. There was a difficult period of adjustment - lasting some three weeks as mum adapted - somewhay reluctantly - to her new environment but, all credit to the hard working staff at BV, she began to thrive, getting to know the staff, making new friends and enjoying the communal activities.
Mum has quite a big family and most days someone pops in to visit, sometimes just to say Hi and sometimes joining her for lunch. We look forward to our visits and are made most welcome by the staff.
Three months on, I have nothing but praise for the wonderful staff at BV, they really turned things around for mum. She is very happy here.
We're so pleased she's making friends, enjoying the activities, and still sharing those precious...
I cannot recommend Jo and the team at Broomfield Village highly enough. Not only is it a beautiful setting, but the care, kindness, and compassion shown to my Dad were truly exceptional. We are so grateful that he was able to spend his time in such a wonderful and supportive place.
Thank you for taking the time to write your lovely review, Sarah - it was a pleasure to get to know your Dad, and for Jo & the team to care for him whilst he was with us. I'll be sure to pass your kind words onto the team, as it'll mean a great deal to them, knowing they made a difference to Dad's life.
After viewing countless care homes, and having had a traumatic experience at another (seemingly high-end, luxurious and well-appointed) home, I cannot praise Broomfield Village enough. The whole experience has been faultless from the moment we arrived to present-day.
Each and every member of the team are simply incredible - they take care of my mother as though she was their own family. They instantly got to know her and familiarise themselves with her personality, likes and dislikes and her everyday needs are not only met with professionalism, kindness, dignity and empathy but they all go the extra mile, 24/7. Nothing is too much trouble for the team, and I am so very grateful and happy that I can rest easy, in the knowledge that Mum is getting the best possible care with the kindest, most supportive and knowledgeable team of people.
Mum is encouraged and assisted to take part in the wonderful range of activities, which I genuinely think is beneficial to her well-being. Thank you
After everything you'd experienced before, we don't take lightly how much trust it took to find mum somewhere new. It means a lot to hear that from your very first visit you've felt a difference here.
What you said about the team treating your mum like...
We moved my Nan in to Broomfield Village following a terrible experience with another care facility (which I will not name).
Broomfield Village is beyond fantastic - the staff, the care, the facilities/entertainment, the responsiveness and communication really has shown us HOW these kind of places should be run. They are A* on all aspects - even the food! My family and I look forward to sharing meals with my grandmother as it's like eating in a restaurant... it's a real treat!
We feel completely safe with our Nan in Broomfield Village - I would highly recommend here to anyone, it's been a life saver for us as a family.
Keep doing what you're doing, and thank you!
We're so sorry you had such a difficult experience before, but it means a lot that you feel things are different here. Knowing your Nan feels safe and that you can properly relax when you leave her with us is exactly what we hope for every family....
My Nan moved into Broomfield Village at the end of March 2026, after a traumatic respite stay at another Braintree home left our family shaken. The contrast has been night and day.
The facility is genuinely impressive. Restaurant-quality food, lovely cafes that residents and families actually want to spend time in, and beautifully maintained gardens.
But what sets Broomfield Village apart is the staff. They are, without exaggeration, incredible. Every person we have encountered, from nurses and carers to kitchen team to management, is warm, attentive, and genuinely interested in my Nan as a person. They know her name, her preferences, her stories. They notice when she is not herself. Nothing is ever too much trouble.
After everything we went through before, finding a home that combines this level of facility with this calibre of staff has been a profound relief. My Nan is settled, content, and well looked after.
I cannot recommend Broomfield Village highly enough.
We're so glad that Nan is now settled, comfortable and feeling like herself again. It's really important to us that every resident is known as a person,...
The facilities are excellent, but what truly stood out was the atmosphere - it never felt like a care home, it felt like home. There were no rigid visiting restrictions, and our large family was always made to feel welcome and supported.
When mum was nearing the end of her life, the compassion shown to our family was extraordinary. We were given a room to stay with her overnight and a separate seating area with kitchen facilities, tea, and coffee. In those difficult moments, the staff cared for us as much as they cared for our mum.
Their kindness, humanity, and respect will never be forgotten. We will always be deeply grateful and cannot recommend this care home highly enough.
Thank you for your heartfelt words, it was a pleasure and a privilege for our team to look after your Mum, and to support you all during her time with us. We couldn't ask for a higher accolade than for our home to feel like home to you - keeping our residents and their families at the heart of...
Mum has loved all the activities that are put on morning and afternoon, and having been unwilling to leave her flat with her live in carers, she is now volunteering for all sorts of things, and is more stimulated by this and all the social interactions with the other residents and all the amazingly lovely staff, who always have time to stop and chat.
Having previously been looking a bit bedraggled, she is making full use of the onsite hairdresser, and is really enjoying having baths, having only felt safe to have showers for at least 15 years. She is looking younger and younger!
She loves a slow start to the day, so enjoys having her breakfast in her room, but then enjoys the sociable lunches and suppers in the dining room.
We can HIGHLY recommend Broomfield.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! We're so pleased your mum was able to celebrate her birthday surrounded by her family so soon after moving in, those moments are so special. It's also lovely to hear how much mum is enjoying the activities, social life and making the most of everything...
Mum went into Broomfield Village in Feb this year as she has Parkinson's disease (over 20 years) but was recently diagnosed with related dementia. She was previously living alone in an independent living facility but due to her memory declining she was feeling lonely. She was forgetting to eat and drink and becoming very sleepy all the time. After a few weeks of being at Broomfield Village, she was eating and drinking well, interacting with others and starting to smile again. The staff got to know her, moved her to another unit where they felt she would thrive more, which she has and she now admits that she is happy there. Mum has always loved her food and she now gets plenty to choose from and is back to being the mum we thought we lost. As a family, we are no longer worried or anxious about mum, following our visits as she had plenty of people and activities to keep her busy. She had made more friends too which is lovely.
We're really pleased to hear how well mum has settled and that you're seeing such a positive change in her, especially her smiling again and enjoying her food. Taking the time to truly understand each person and find the right place for...
Very good, caring and friendly staff lots to do. Very nice room & good choice of food. Overall a lovely place to live.
We're so pleased you're enjoying life here, from the activities and food to your room and the team around you. It means a lot to hear you feel it's a lovely place to live!
Where do you obtain such excellent staff. they are true carers! Food I am a vegetarian. The facilities, accommodation is delightful.
Thank you so much, that's really lovely to hear.
We feel very lucky to have such a caring team, they genuinely love what they do and it shows every day. We are also so glad you are happy with the food and that you enjoyed the vegetarian meals, along with the home itself.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
I can't say enough positive things about Broomfield. I first got to know the home when they invited me to bring my therapy dog in to spend time with the residents, and from the very beginning it was clear how much genuine care and warmth goes into everything they do.
When we later needed to find a safe home for my mum, who has FTD dementia, I couldn't imagine her being anywhere else. The support throughout the move was incredible-there was always someone available to answer questions and guide us with kindness.
Mum's dementia presents differently, but the team have taken the time to truly understand her-what brings her comfort and what makes her light up-which has meant everything to us. It's given us real peace of mind knowing she is safe and genuinely cared for.
In a time that's been incredibly hard for us as a family, Broomfield has made all the difference.
Thank you so much for sharing this, it really means a lot!
It's been so special getting to know you over time and we feel very lucky that your journey with Broomfield started the way it did. Supporting you through your mum's move was incredibly important to us and we're so glad you felt guided...
My Mother in Law has only been at Broomfield Village Care Home a few months, but she has settled well. The staff are all amazing, and the facilities excellent. My husband and I live in Asia, and we feel very confident with communication from the home and also in the care she is receiving. Highly recommend considering it for your loved one.
We're delighted to hear that your mother in law has settled in well and that you feel confident in both the care she is receiving and the communication from our team, even from so far away. It means a great deal to us that you would recommend Broomfield Village, and we're so pleased to be supporting your family. See you soon!
The staff having been amazing, very supportive during what has been an extremely difficult time.

The staff treat residents with dignity and compassion at all times.
I would recommend Broomfield Village Care Home to anybody wishing to have a loved one cared for to an exceptional standard.
Knowing you...
Their patience, professionalism, and genuine warmth made a real difference to his daily life. It was clear that he was treated not just as a resident, but as an individual - with dignity, respect especially for what he wanted, and understanding. That meant a great deal to us. Also never having to worry about leaving him knowing he was receiving such high standards of care was a huge weight off our minds.
The food is really good too which was important for him.
We thoroughly recommend Broomfield Village!
Thank you so much for sharing such beautiful feedback, we're truly grateful for your kind words. It means a great deal to know your father felt supported, respected and treated as the individual he was. Dignity, choice, and genuine kindness are at the heart of everything we do, so your feedback...
The staff have been amazing. My mum is on oxygen and finds getting out of bed difficult, when she needs to get out, they are happy to help. The support they give to the family is brilliant, and being able to join her for a meal is lovely.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that mum feels supported and comfortable during her stay. Our team always strives to provide compassionate care and to be there whenever help is needed, so it means a lot to know that has made a difference for you and your family. We're...
My husband calls Enitan his friend.
I would like this carer to have recognition for his care.

We have been so pleased with the care our Gran has received here. She came in really poorly but has been taken care of so well that she is thriving in a way we never expected. Thank you - we are so grateful. Everyone we meet is so friendly to residents and visitors - and it feels more like a 5* hotel than a care home! Couldn't recommend more highly.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We're truly delighted to hear that you've had such a positive experience for your Gran. Every member of our staff is dedicated to creating a safe, comfortable, and homely environment for our residents, and it's wonderful to know that this is reflected in your...
For anyone thinking of this care home for a relative or friend, honestly do not hesitate. My Dad sadly only managed 4 weeks here, but wow what an amazing and special time that was for him and us. Absolutely everything about the place is just beautiful. The staff are incredible, caring and thoughtful and this extended to our family and friends who visited Dad. They made us feel so welcome, so at home and so comfortable and we were always made to feel part of Broomfield village family. My Dad really got his sparkle back here for his final weeks and that was down to this amazing care home, friendly caring professional staff and the beautiful surroundings and facilities. I had no idea care homes existed like this. Broomfield Village is a very special place, it will always have a place in my heart and I will always be thankful for finding this wonderful home.
Thank you so much for your positive and caring review.
We are pleased to hear that you and your father were happy with the care received, he was such a delightful gentleman and it was our pleasure to have him in our care.
It is always rewarding to hear such positive and thoughtful...
I would urge anyone looking for a care home for a loved one to visit Broomfield Village and see the level of care in action, and see the lovely facilities for themselves.

Meet the Team (3)

I'm a qualified nurse and have a wealth of experience managing a team, within the care industry in a busy nursing home.
I've joined the Principle family, sharing their ethos and values; to ensure that through my work, I can make people feel special every day.
In my role, I believe it’s important to have a strong understanding of clinical needs and regulatory requirements, along with good communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
Supporting and mentoring the team, is the key to feeling a sense of achievement at the end of the day, and in turn, delivering excellent care for both residents and their families.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children.

I’ve worked as a Customer Relationship Manager in the care sector for 6 years now, both commissioning new homes and supporting established homes with their customer relations.
My role is to introduce new families to the home, guide them through the process of looking into care for themselves or a loved one, and help them during the transition of moving from their home into a new community.
My passion for working in the care industry has grown significantly over the past 6 years, and continues to do so every time I make a difference in someone's life, by supporting them and their families during their move into residential care.
When I'm not at home, you'll find me spending time with my family and friends, participating at a local parkrun on a Saturday morning, or enjoying a coffee in one of Chelmsford's independent coffee shops!

My role at Broomfield Village is to oversee the administrative functions of the home, ensuring an efficient operation for not only our team but also our residents and their visitors.
My main responsibility is the management of various aspects of the business side of Broomfield Village, and in turn, supporting the delivery of high-quality care.
