Mum initially went to Lydgate for 2 weeks respite in June. Due to her ongoing safety needs we decided to make her stay permanent. This was a very emotional decision for me to make, but the managers and staff supported me enormously through the process. They are always warm, friendly and genuinely care
for residents and their families. I really appreciate their open door policy and always feel welcomed by all staff members whatever their role. They are quick to respond to any questions/queries and keep me informed regarding all aspects of mums needs.
Mum has settled so well and is much calmer, less lonely, at ease, happier and above all, safe in their care.
I am absolutely sure that I made the right decision for mum, and me. I feel confident she is in safe hands and trust Lydgate 100% with my dear, precious mum. Thank you to you all from the bottom of my heart. You've allowed me to be a daughter again instead of her carer. X

Having come to Lydgate Batley for a six week stay after an operation. I was not looking forward to it. Two weeks into my stay I can honestly say what a delightful care home. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble, if you need anything at all just ask. The team are always cheerful, chatty
and make and make time for the residents. The manager is brilliant you see him on the floors, not hiding away im the office, speaking to people. I shall comment again in two weeks.

My wife has been in Lydgate for a short period of time, but every time I come to visit, the home is in a very friendly, and cleanliness condition, I know my wife is being cared for by every member of staff, I am sure every person enjoys working and staying there, it is a home you should be proud of.

My mum has had a two month respite period here and from the outset the support and care has been excellent. The regional admission manager came to assess my mum within hours of our request and the day after Mum was able to move in. The management and staff have been very caring and supportive, the
room was nice and clean and the food and drink provided was of a high quality. The home manager is very friendly and approachable and the whole front of house team are just lovely. The activities lady is very enthusiastic and keen for the residents to join in . Overall we have been very impressed by the kindness, care and support my mum has received here.

The staff put on a fantastic Wild West afternoon for residents, relatives and friends. It included a bouncy castle, street food, entertainer singing country and western songs . The home was fully trimmed up and staff came in on their day off to help out and enjoy the great fun with the residents.

from a local infant school and day nursery were also invited (a nice touch) they also had a great time and the residents loved having them.

My aunt was transferred up to the dementia unit earlier in the year. This was done with care and attention to her needs. Visits to her since then have found her relaxed, happy and totally settled in the unit. The staff treat her with care and consideration. In fact all the staff at Lydgate Lodge are

All staff I have met have been really pleasant, understanding and empathic.
Distribution of medication and help with mobility is very efficient. Also care in relation to food preferences and allergies.

Placing a loved one in a care home is a difficult decision. After 6 months, Mum has settled in well. Mum enjoys her privacy and the comfort of her room, which is comfortable and pleasant. There are lots of different activities on offer, we are encouraging Mum to join in more. Mum enjoys the food and
our afternoon teas have been fabulous. My biggest compliment to the home must be that they listen. Problems do arise, and I have found that I am listened to. However, more importantly, action is taken.

We visited our relative today who has recently moved into Lydgate lodge. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice the accommodation was. The room was very clean, comfortable and modern. The staff we saw were friendly and helpful and obviously cared about the residents.
It was a lovely sunny afternoon
and we joined the cheese and wine event in the garden. It was wonderful to see the residents enjoying their day. Thank you.

Staff are always friendly and care for the residents as if they are family. The care home has a 'family' feel with all the residents generally being happy. My mum has never looked as happy or as well for a long time.
