De Brook Lodge

My Father in Law went to De Brook Lodge straight from hospital at the end of July 2026. Although he was not the same health wise as when we were shown around the home they still welcomed him. The care he received in the short 6 weeks he was there was second to none. The staff were amazing and showed care, compassion and respect when looking after him. Not only did they care for him they looked after us, his family too. Nothing was too much trouble and any questions were promptly answered and dealt with appropriately. All of the staff I met went above and beyond to ensure my Father in Law was well cared for and comfortable. In his last few days the staff were super respectful and gave him dignity in his final days. Something we as a family will be forever grateful for.. Could not have wished for or received better care for him. Thank you to all staff at De Brook Lodge for everything you did for him and the family.

Excellent care provided to my dad. Lovely room and facilities, made to feel at home immediatly. Easy to gain updates nothing too much trouble.

My nan has been living at this care home for some time now, overall, our experience has been positive. The staff are genuinely kind, approachable and clearly care about the residents. It's reassuring to see how much effort they put into making it homely and a friendly atmosphere. Many of the staff go out of their way to make my nan feel comfortable and special which she loves. That said, there are a few areas where things can be a bit inconsistent. A few times her glasses haven't been found, teeth haven't been in whilst she's been eating, missing clothes, even just a bit of fresh air even for 10 minutes, all in all the staff and home are lovely.

This carehome was recommended by a work colleague and on visiting we had the opportunuty to chat with other resident family members and this cemented our choice. Initially mum's stay was for respite but she was struggling to live independantly and needed daily care and assistance. Mum was made to feel welcome by everyone and so very quickly settled in and decided she would like to be a permanent resident! I highly recommend this care home. Mum has made new friends and enjoys a rich variety of social activities. Our experience so far is communication is a clear strength, nothing is too much trouble, everyone is approachable and helpful, management and all staff alike are friendly and kind. Above all, mum is treated with dignity and respect and this homely environment has already positively impacted mum's general health and well being. We are delighted she is much more her old self again! Thank you to everyone for their ongoing kindness to mum and our family. It really is heart warming.

Mum was well looked after during her time at De Brook. All staff were kind and supportive and would always go out of their way to help. The facilities exceeded my expectations and I was genuinely impressed. A lovely, caring place. Thank you!

Mum has resided at De Brook Lodge for 4 1/2 years before sadly passing in April this year. Her time at De Brook was a good time from her arrival during Covid to her passing. The staff were always caring and understanding of her needs throughout this time. During her final days, the love and support for both her and her family, shown by the staff, was such a comfort.

My mother has been a resident for almost 3 years now at De Brook and we could not wish for a better place for her to be.cared for The staff are all fantastic and take the time and effort to ensure my mum is well looked after, and happy . There are lots of activities provided for the residents and it is great to see them all happy and smiling. The home is always very clean and well maintained and the rooms are all decorated to make it very homely. The food always looks delicious too with lots of choices and variety and all freshly cooked on site.

My wife has been resident for almost 3 years. I together with the family have always had a good and co-operative communication and experience with all the staff and the service provided.

I want to give a huge shoutout to a particular member of staff who always goes above and beyond to care for the residents and make sure their emotional and physical needs are met. This staff member always has a smile on her face, nothing is too much trouble and spends time speaking to the residents individually. Mum hadn't had a proper bath in years and she took the time and trouble to arrange this for her which I know she thoroughly appreciated. She always makes sure Mum is well presented and gives each resident her personal touch. She is definitely a huge asset to the team. I would like to ensure she gets some recognition for her work and the exceptional care she provides.

I am very impessed with De Brook. My dad has settled in well. The staff are kind and compassionate. The staff take an interest in my Dad's family. They are friendly and approachable. The home is clean and well-maintained and has a homely atmosphere. The rooms are bright and good. De Brook allows residents to personalise their space. The food choices are excellent and varied. Everything cooked on site, everything fresh and looks delicious! A wide range of activities are offered daily to keep residents engaged and stimulated. Families are welcome to participate in the activities. I would highly recommend De Brook to anyone looking for a supportive and caring environment for their loved one.

Very please with the care my relative receives and is an outstanding home. All the other residents seem to be happy and all staff are very attentive to their needs. Glad to know my grandmother is looked after to a very high standard.

De Brook Lodge is an outstanding Care Home. I have never worried about my mum being a resident, I had 100% trust that she would be looked after with care and dignity. There were various activities on offer together with outings. Mum never wanted for anything, the staff attended to her every need and were extremely vigilant with her as she became more frail. All the staff, from Management down, knew their clients and their specific needs. All staff could be seen in the lounges chatting to their residents. Visitors were made to feel welcome and there was always a smile on staff faces. I cannot recommend this care home enough.

In summer of 2023, I visited De Brook Lodge without an appointment. Immediately, I was welcomed warmly by the front of house manager and, after an initial informal chat, was able to have a look around. My first impression was all the staff are so caring, the residents are able to engage in organised and stimulating activities if they wish and it was spotless. The manager is so friendly and approachable and goes out of his way to make your loved one feel very at home. The nursing manager is also friendly and very knowledgeable about her job, giving little tips on how to approach what is often a very hard decision to make. All the nursing staff went out of their way to make my mum's first week a very positive experience, everyone seems to know her name and who she is, even if they don’t work directly with her. I can only say that De Brook Lodge really is a home from home and I can relax a little knowing I’ve done the best for my mum and that she is in a safe and caring environment.

I have been extremely pleased with my mum's care at De Brook. There are plenty of activities and opportunities to talk to staff. My mum seems to have taken to it very well and has barely noticed that her surroundings have changed since she moved from her own home in October. I have no worries about leaving her each time I visit, as I know she is safe there.

After having several managers in a very short space of time, De Brook Lodge is much more settled since the new team has taken over. Always a smile on their faces and literally can't do enough for you when needed.

All the staff have been very kind and friendly. They have kept me updated on how my Mum is settling in and have been very supportive. I feel my Mum is being well cared for and receiving excellent support. The care home feels very homely whatever time of day I visit. I am very grateful.

My mother has recently resided at De Brook Lodge on the ground floor. All staff are very friendly. One staff member in particular (team leader) made us as a family very much at home nothing has ever been too much trouble for her and she always goes above and beyond for everyone, this lady definitely deserves recognition. Food always looks delicious and new kitchen units look excellent. Thank you.

Finding a suitable care home was very difficult for our family, but De Brook Lodge ticked all the boxes. My mother in law moved in recently and honestly we cannot be more pleased with our decision. It is a lovely home with even more lovely staff who go the extra mile to make residents feel comfortable and cared for. The young lady with blonde hair who is the senior on the ground floor especially impressed me. She clearly excels in her role as leader but also is not afraid to do the dirty work which was a surprise. All staff on ground floor are well drilled and all residents are extremely well looked after. It is clear this lady inspires those around her. My mother in law loves being here and we as a family feel safe and secure that she is being looked after correctly. Thank you De Brook Lodge.

Wonderful place, amazing staff who are always on hand to help. Settled mum and myself with the move and given guidance and advice throughout. Food is great and mum is encouraged to eat and drink. Would highly recommend
