Foxbridge House in Orpington, Kent, is a purpose-built home offering nursing, respite and residential care, as well as specialist dementia care.

The bright and spacious home has been designed to create a lively, family atmosphere. Residents can enjoy a wealth of luxury features, including a hair and nail salon, a retro-themed cinema and a coffee shop perfect for socialising. All of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities, a TV and a 24-hour nurse call system.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are the cornerstones of daily life at Foxbridge House. The team places importance on protecting residents' meal-times as good nutrition and hydration are key to staying well. Family members are very welcome to 'book-in' and join their loved one for a meal.

Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.

an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Mum had a 2-week respite after being taken ill and a brief spell in hospital to re-charge her batteries and get back to fitness for returning home to her house.


Mum enjoyed her spell here and repeatedly said how kind and caring the staff were.


I believe her only complaint was the food, which she

likened to school dinners (she's an ex-teacher)! Other than that everything was as we wished for her prior to arrival.


So from myself and my sister, we were very grateful.

We always welcome feedback, including for food and we are very happy that in our regular meetings with residents and relatives we’ve had very positive feedback regarding the changes. Of course, we will continue to adapt and improve menus to meet the needs and wishes of residents, making meals in-house with fresh ingredients and making sure we have plenty of delicious options, particularly for those with special dietary needs.

A two-week respite for myself. A pleasant experience, treated with respect and kindness by all members of staff.


My only criticism was the quality and suitability of food for elderly and in some cases unwell people.

We have found the carers are very helpful. The rooms are always very clean and tidy, we feel the home is very secure. The dining is very pleasant and the food is always very good and appropriate for older people. My father appreciates the lovely garden. The family enjoy visiting my father and taking

Since first contacting Foxbridge, I have only received caring, helpful and efficient service. From the initial meetings to now (in the home for one month), I have got to know all the lovely staff and it has been a very pleasant (even though fretful to get my Aunt settled) experience. They are always
cheerful, greet you with a smile and hello, and will spare time for you if you have any worries. My special thanks to the team.

My dad is well looked after and cared for at Foxbridge House. They have a lovely garden on my dad's floor and a lovely café on the ground floor. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. My dad is very happy at Foxbridge House.

The manager was to email response to a complaint within two days. Still not heard. Meant to be on doctors list, didn't happen. Mummy called 999 to go to A&E, prescribed morphine patches. Not impressed. Staff friendly. One night nurse only gave paracetamol although strong pain relief prescribed. Mummy
likes a few staff but doesn't want to be in pain. Activities on offer only two per day. TV in the lounge too loud.

Thank you for the feedback received, we take your comments seriously and will endeavour to make actions and changes off of the back of them. I know we have discussed some of the issues raised to a satisfactory requirement, but understand that there was some failings in our findings around communication, all of which we have now actioned, including written responses and communicating requests more effectively. We have completed a full review of medications and made changes accordingly. We are sorry you felt the activities were not up to an adequate standard, we have an activities programme across the whole week, which includes personal one to one time. The activities planner can be found in reception, or delivered to each resident weekly so they know what is happening in the home. With regards to the TV in the lounge, this is monitored by the residents and set by the residents in the room at the time, based on their needs. My apologies that we have not lived up to your expectations, but hope that our ongoing meetings have rectified all of these already.

All round very good. Some improvement could be made to communicate to the family and more visual display on entry on who to speak to in the event photo of key points of contact mainly aimed at management, not floor staff or nurses.
Weekends - noticeable change in site at weekends can tell limited
numbers on hand.

I had to have a major operation and had to put my husband into respite care. I looked at quite a lot of homes before settling on Foxbridge House and I know I made the right choice. I cannot fault the home or the staff who showed compassion and never left anyone alone. Help was always available.

Since moving my aunt into Foxbridge House I have been delighted with the level of care, environment and facilities provided. The staff are caring, intelligent, happy and thoughtful. The communication is very good and the rooms and public areas are bright modern and lively.

The 24-hour care has given my lovely mum peace of mind that someone is always there for her day and night. The staff are so caring and kind towards the residents and go out of their way to go the extra mile to make them feel valued and important.
I live close by so I can pop in frequently but I am
happy that all of the Foxbridge House team are providing the full-time care that I sadly can't.

My aunt suffers from Alzheimers/early onset Dementia requiring respite due to family illness. On meeting the manager, discussing our requirements and being shown around I was confident that we had chosen the right care home. The quality of care is exceptional and nothing is too much trouble for any
member of the staff. They all work as a team and as a family, we were able to relax in the knowledge that our aunt was being well looked after. We were able to visit any time of day or night with no restrictions and always felt involved and consulted where necessary. We found the staff very supportive of the family and they always had time to discuss any matters to avoid any worries or concerns. The care staff encourage the residents to join in with outings, activities and all other kinds of entertainment and are not just left to their own devices. My aunt really enjoyed her stay and thought the staff were lovely, she came home relaxed and happy. Foxbridge House made a big difference.

Mum has been there for 18 months. The whole family are very pleased with the home. The staff are very caring. Activities level dropped for some time as staff left, down from three and a half people to one! Slowly increasing now but needs to get back to previous levels for the benefit of staff and residents.

Job Title: Home Manager

There are many different aspects of my role as Home Manager at Foxbridge House, but one of my favourites is the opportunity to meet and get to know residents and their families. It’s a huge privilege.


Every person we care for is at the heart of their care: they make decisions about how they want to be cared for, how they want to spend their day and live their life, and we support them to make that happen.


Central to achieving that is having a superb team. We have great people at Foxbridge House who are determined to do their best for residents, relatives and for each other. I’m here to support them to succeed, and Care UK supports me to succeed as well.


While this job is high-pressured and there’s a lot to juggle, the feeling at the end of the day of knowing that you’ve done the best job you can is second to none.
