My mother recently passed away peacefully at the care home. On behalf of the family, all of whom were present at mum's passing, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the entire care team who were in attendance that day. Every one of the team handled this difficult time with sincere compassion and sensitive care for mum, dad and my sisters that went well beyond their professional duties. I have nothing but the greatest admiration for each of them.

Mum has lived in Hambleton Grange for 6 years. Overall, we are happy with her care. The staff are kind, sometimes under pressure, and the food is good, although Mum would like more vegetables!

I find the management team helpful and responsive to any queries I might have.

Very positive as always. The home staff and overall experience are excellent. I am yet to have a negative interaction with a member of the team. We also took our grandson to visit on this occasion, and all the staff were very engaging. Thank you all.

The longer my mum is in Hambleton Grange, the more grateful I am for the care she is receiving. The home is warm, clean, tidy and generally a happy place to be. The majority of the carers are professional and knowledgeable. Understandably, I have encountered a couple I am less enamoured with, but that doesn't mean they don't carry out their work with care. just not as friendly as others.

My mother is being cared for very well with much love and humour. As her needs have increased, so has the level of support. There is a good team who support Mum as well as me.

I have visited people in a good many care homes but think Hambleton Grange is one where I would be happy to live myself. Though it must be hard to lose one's independence, it still seems possible to lead a full life here. Hambleton Grange offers a wide range of activities and events including some that friends and relatives can also take part in. There are talks, films, craft sessions and entertainments. Although there is a television, it isn't obtrusive, as in some times where the residents get very little choice of viewing.
The person who has power of attorney for our friend has a long way to travel, but the staff keep in touch by phone and always remember who she is. In spite of having restricted mobility, our friend is able to go out in the new minibus and enjoys these excursions.
Everyone seems to get a special cake on their birthday and the one we shared was delicious.
Inevitably, there must be daily routines which the public don't always see, but my impression is that the residents are treated as individuals and with kindness and respect.

I haven't ticked some categories, because I simply don't know enough about them.

What a wonderful place. All the staff are exceptional - caring, kind, patient and good humoured. The food is delicious with lots of variety, and there is a busy, wide-ranging programme of activities. The building is maintained to a high standard, and there is good communication with residents, relatives and, where appropriate, the GP. I have no hesitation in recommending Hambleton Grange to anyone, for themselves or a relative.

The staff at Hambleton Grange showed my mother kindness and loving care throughout her journey with Alzheimer's. They did the same for all her family, and we will always be forever grateful to them all. It has been such a difficult time, but from Sandra (the manager), Lindsey on reception and all the caring team, my mother could not have been better looked after. Thank you all.

First day I arrived was so strange, but soon I met the other clients and it changed. Soon we were playing simple games of cards, dominoes, etc, and from then on it was very sociable. The quizzes were great, and the craft sessions, and I soon settled in and met loads of the residents, which was wonderful. The staff were very heloful and didn't take over what we were doing. I settled very well after that.

Our mum was in another home previously to this. Hambleton Grange is hands down, head and shoulders, 100% better than any other home we looked at. Staff know all of the residents. Their genuine kindness and care is humbling to see. Sandra is amazing, kind, caring, approachable, practical and a sincerely nice person. She leads by example. HG is a shining example to other homes. Only 1 regret - We didn't find HG 18 months ago. Heartfelt thanks to you all.

Visited Hambleton Grange for the first time today. Was visiting a friend who has recently become a service user. From the offset my experience was totally positive. An attractive looking property as I arrived and a very warm welcome from the team member who met me. My visit was unannounced, however, that caused no concern to the staff team. I had my pet dog with me who also received a warm welcome!

Made my way to my friends room, meeting another member of staff on the way. The interaction with them just felt natural. Nothing was too much trouble and great to hear that they knew my friend despite only recently moving in.

My friends room was very nice and appeared very well kept and serviced. My friend looked really well and had clearly settled in well. A different experience to visiting them in another home during a stay. Was really impressed with the communal areas. There were a wide selection and residents were making good use of the spaces.

Dad resided at Hambleton for just over 5 months until he recently died. I was really impressed with the level of care he received from all the staff I met. Everybody was so helpful and showed him kindness. Recently he became very poorly and I was impressed with the quality of care and understanding of the situation. We were kept well informed of his condition. You have a brilliant team in Thirsk, from management to carers, including activity and events coordinator. Thank you.

My Mum recently stayed for respite at Hambleton Grange and I cannot praise the staff and care home enough. From start to finish it was a very positive experience for both Mum and myself. The home had a very "warm homely" feeling and the staff were extremely caring, helpful and very kind. The activities were amazing including Mums favourite - a trip out in the minibus! We would not hesitate to use Hambleton Grange again.
