We looked at many care homes, trying to find the 'one' for our mum.
Walking into Ascot Grange was like walking into a five star hotel!
From the very beginning, the staff were so welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel less guilty about having to put mum into a care home.
Whenever
we visited mum, we were always greeted with a cheery "hello" from the receptionist and staff.
When mum moved upstairs to Devonish Ward, the transition was so smooth.
When we visited her, it was just like we were all one big family.
When mum deteriorated and needed a hoist to safely move her from her bed to her wheelchair, they spoke to her the entire time putting her at ease.
Sadly mum passed in January, and again, the care and compassion shown to mum and our family was beautiful.
I would highly recommend Ascot Grange to anyone looking for a care home
Reply from Mark Deadman, Manager at Ascot Grange Care Home - Avery CollectionDear Lisa, thank you for your kind words. I have passed on your feedback to all the staff teams. The staff, particularly within Devenish, miss Mum a goo deal. Mum became a big part of everyone's lives in both communities in the home. I used to get on really well with Mum and would always manage to secure a cheeky smile from her. I do miss that. We hope that you and all the family are doing as OK as you can be. Please do reach out if you need any support. Take care and again, thank you for the review.

Mark and his outstanding team at Ascot Grange looked after my mother with respect, dignity, care and compassion over her three year stay.
She would tell me how happy she was, that Ascot Grange was her home and how much she loved the staff, often saying they were like family and friends to her.
She
liked to argue and laugh with her Carers as if they were her own children.
The restaurant team always noted her precise requirements and never failed to give her exactly what she wanted with a smile. She was very complimentary about the food (and drink)
Team leaders and management invariably kept me informed as things developed and decisions, big and small, needed to be made.
I, and i know my mother would unreservedly recommend Ascot Grange.
Reply from Mark Deadman, Manager at Ascot Grange Care Home - Avery CollectionDear Peter, thank you for your feedback and kind words. I have shared your review with the the whole team at Ascot Grange. Mum stayed with us for 3 years and made key impressions with everyone. Her sense of humour, canniness, kindness and love made us all feel like we were her children as well. She is greatly missed, as are all of you. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of accompanying Mum on her final journey: it has been an honour. Please take care and reach out if you need any support.

Having lost my Mum to Alzheimers in 2021, my Dad moved to Ascot Grange by choice in March 2022, foreseeing the additional care that he would need in future years despite being an 'Assisted Living' resident initially. I have to say that in the last four years of his life here (aged 97), he really enjoyed
his time in the company of all the residents and the Care Team and regularly participated in the various activities, whether it be exercise, shopping trips, other outings or resident committee meetings. From what we witnessed, especially in his final years, the care and dedication shown to all the residents by the Ascot Grange Team was of the highest standard and having viewed many of the Care facilities in the local area prior to choosing Ascot Grange, we have no doubt that the 'hotel-like' ambience, general look-and-feel, and staff dedication to residents, helps it stand 'head and shoulders' above others. Highly recommended by all our family who had the privilege of visiting Dad here.
Reply from Mark Deadman, Manager at Ascot Grange Care Home - Avery CollectionSimon - thank you for your review and feedback. Your father was a huge part of Ascot Grange and helped to shape its service by actively being involved in many resident-staff working groups. Your Father was an ardent advocate for resident service and wellbeing at Ascot Grange, which really helped me and the team. He also engaged in the majority of activities and events that take place here. One of my personal favourite memories of your Father is where he was dressed up in the resident-staff crafted St George's armoured suit. We still have the armoured suit and I have a picture of your Father dressed in it. We were very privileged to have spent his final years with him and he is dearly missed. Take care and thank you for your kind words, which I will pass on to the team.

After looking at 5 others in the area we literally burst into tears when we walked in to Ascot Grange. The greeting, overall look and the demeanour of the residents was incredible. We were looking for a Care Home that would take and be suitable for both my parents, Ascot Grange was head and shoulders
above anything else we had seen.

My parents have been there 9 months now and the only thing I can add is that it was 100% the right move! Dad was 3 months bed bound before he moved in and for the last 7 months he has been moved into a wheelchair and joined his wife and other residents for meals and activities, nothing short of incredible! The staff are angels, patience of saints, smiles of masterpieces and hearts of pure gold, they are truly remarkable and have now become part of our family and we of the home's. Visiting is a joyous and enjoyable time, plenty of social or private areas for us to use whilst enjoying a drink and cake in the company of our loved ones.

Reply from Mark Deadman, Manager at Ascot Grange Care Home - Avery CollectionDear Steve and family, thank you for your feedback. I will make sure this gets shared with all our team at this week's staff meetings. Thank you for choosing Ascot Grange to provide care and support to both Mum and Dad. They are both sorely missed by the Ascot Grange family. Not only do we lose part of our family when residents are discharged from our service, we additionally miss their families too. Please do take care and reach out, if you need any support.

My father stayed in Ascot Grange for 7 weeks. All aspects of his and the family's experience was first class. The staff are quite excellent always placing the needs of the resident at the forefront of what they do. Our experience of the clinical nursing care was most impressive and professional. The
staff not only provided the full range of care to my father but also found time to provide the family support-we never once visited without being offered hospitality. My father did not (his choice) take part in the various activities on offer (which looked very impressive) but he certainly enjoyed the excellent food that he chose to eat in his room. His room was excellent and more akin to a hotel suite. His bespoke care and clinical needs were met by the Home, such as an air mattress and a bed extension, without delay or prevarication. Perhaps this special place can be summed up by the simple fact that on entering the building it feels more like a friendly boutique hotel than a Care Home. We were very pleased that my father was able to spend his last days in such a caring and happy environment.
Reply from Mark Deadman, Manager at Ascot Grange Care Home - Avery CollectionThank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, Rachel. I will ensure that your kind words are passed on to all of the staff team. Your father is sorely missed by everyone here, as he was a very popular part of our extended family. been in all his rooms. Staff checked in on all his requirements, offered us a delicious lunch and help unloading all his belongings.

Walking into Ascot Grange is like stepping into a warm bath. My Mum moved in for respite care but, sadly, was far sicker than we all realised and passed away a couple of weeks later. The staff were absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, right through to the very end, they couldn't do enough
for Mum or the family and all done very professionally, with a friendly smile and a hug when needed. Nothing was too much trouble. The lovely surroundings helped too, Mum's room was so comfortable and everything was of such good quality while retaining a homely feel. I just wish she could have moved in a little earlier, I'm convinced she would have enjoyed the atmosphere, facilities and food.

To all at Ascot Grange,
I would like you to know how much I appreciate the care and love that was given to my dad, while he was with you!
The level of care you all provided, surpassed my expectations and is something that all care homes should aspire to!
He truly loved you all and knowing this gave
me peace of mind during this difficult time.
Each and every one of you at every level should be immensely proud of yourselves. You are all a credit to Avery Care Homes.
My very kind regards

Mum has been a resident in Ascot Grange for almost 18 months and it’s been a life changer. When Mum’s mental health deteriorated, and it became obvious she could no longer look after herself in her own home, it was heartbreaking having to make the decision to move her into residential care but boy
was it a good decision. Thanks to the patience, understanding and guidance offered by the staff at Ascot Grange Mum settled wonderfully and I can sleep easy knowing she is safe. I have the luxury of living just around the corner so I can, and do, pop in every day but if I go away I can rest assured that she’s being well looked after. The staff are friendly and dedicated and any issues are quickly resolved by the approachable and professional management team.

My parents had been residents for eighteen months at Ascot Grange Care Home and I have always given the staff and home glowing reports for their care but following my mother's passing in January, I have been amazed at the outpouring of genuine love and care for my father and to us, as a family. Although
part of the larger Avery Group, the manager is very hands-on, runs his own ship. I would recommend Ascot Grange without hesitation.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 106 registered maximum number of service users is 21.2. 19 Positive Reviews ÷ 21.2 = 0.896
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2022

Thank you for taking the time to read our bios. We love to see prospective customers, families and friends, new members of staff and the local community taking an interest in our community.

I am the General Manager for Ascot Grange. My role is to ensure that we deliver what we say we do. I am responsible for overall service delivery to our customers and community, inspiring and leading the onsite team and ensuring high standards of governance and compliance are achieved.

Over the last 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving the healthcare sector by managing and leading frontline care services for our elderly population. I have come into contact with many individuals who have willingly shared their life experiences and wisdom. This has reinforced my sense of duty and heightened my level of respect for our elders.

Over that time, I have been proud to lead and work alongside some amazing team members who have had a genuine passion for care and a true desire to serve. I have learned a great deal from these colleagues along my career journey.

I am very much a people person. I truly believe in the values of responsibility, integrity, kindness, compassion and doing what I can for others. The care sector has afforded me the opportunity to ‘live’ these values in the workplace, for which I am truly grateful.

I was immediately drawn to Ascot Grange because of the culture and principles the organisation aspires to. After visiting the home and meeting some of the residents and staff, I knew that this was where I wanted to work. I subsequently joined the Ascot Grange team in January 2022. I am now passionately working with the community and team here to take the home’s services forward. The team and I are fully committed to embedding the core principles of empathy, care, compassion and integrity into the Ascot Grange community.

Please note that my door is always open: do not hesitate to come and talk to me, should you need anything or if I can assist.

Thank you again for your interest in our community.

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager Joined: 2022

I am delighted to join the team at Ascot Grange as the Dementia Care Manager working with the Devenish Community and other residents on the dementia pathway. I strongly believe that all residents should be supported in living their life to the full and ensuring all are supported as an individual.

I have spent my career working in care with companies including Somerset Care and more latterly McCarty and Stone as an Area Manager.

When not at work I love to travel. I am from a large family and am lucky to have them close by so we are all able to spend lots of time together.

Job Title: Nurse Care Manager Joined: 2022

I started my career in care 25 years ago when I worked as a care assistant in a nursing home. This is where I found my love of caring for our older generation and I was inspired to become a nurse. I have been qualified for 14 years now working in various roles in the NHS, mainly in day surgery and surgical wards; in care homes as a senior nurse and deputy manager.

I began my journey with Ascot Grange as Nurse Care Manager in April 2022. It is a great privilege to be given the opportunity to work with such a wonderful team. It is my passion to make sure all residents at Ascot Grange have the best quality of care.

Job Title: Hospitality Manager Joined: 2020

Having started my journey at Ascot Grange in 2020, I still feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to work in such a wonderful place with caring residents and staff alike. I have seen the home go from strength to strength and with the addition of new heads of department to the team, I am sure the home will continue to grow and increase from the solid foundations being built. I will continue to bring my knowledge from my past experiences and the experiences over the past year and continue to pair it with the vision and values that Ascot Grange and the people, both staff and residents here embody. I am looking forward to meeting you all when our current climate allows. My door will always be open if you want a chat.
