The home is well managed with good processes and the staff are all friendly, caring and very helpful.
I am very grateful for the care my father has received during Covid-19 Pandemic. It has been reassuring that he has been cared for well.
Excellent, friendly staff, beautiful building always welcoming. Fantastic care for my mother. Absolutely brilliant place.
The right balance of caring and professional. All staff responding admirably to the challenges of COVID-19.
The care she has received has been excellent she has now regained her appetite her fluid intake has greatly improved and her general health is much better.
Mom and dad have recently moved to The Hawthorns, the day before lockdown. Although the experience of moving into care further impacted by immediate lockdown restrictions, the relief of them being safe, cared for and the attention of the team has been such a relief for us all. They love the food, the activities and the staff. It can only get better.
A lovely caring home, Mum is very happy and content and we as a family are very happy with mums care.
Thank you, Rosemary, we are always happy to do everything possible to make life for our residents as comfortable, happy and fulfilled every day.
Excellent, caring staff - very professional.
During the time of my father's loss of my stepmother, the care my father has received from staff has been exemplary in its compassion and care. I was so touched on the day of my stepmother’s funeral, (yesterday) all staff came out to pay their respects to her, in the hearse taking us to her funeral. Thank you all.
Thank you for such a heartwarming review. Staff at The Hawthorns become close to the residents and in the event of a funeral, it is like having to say goodbye to a friend. Your lovely comments will be passed onto the staff.
My Mum has been here now for over 12 months and I have to say I am delighted with the level of care given at all times. During the current COVID crisis the home has been excellent and it's never too much trouble for them to set up video calls and more recently garden visits. Mum has the most beautiful room and everything in the home is first class. The staff are all lovely and very helpful and it is a great comfort to me to know that Mum is well cared for and safe. They do an amazing job and we are very grateful to them all.
Thank you for your kind words. It's so encouraging to receive such positive reviews.
The staff were so pleasant and helpful in such difficult circumstances. A happy experience.
We are delighted you had such a pleasant stay with us. Our staff are always happy to go the extra mile and make every resident feel special.
I have been here for 3 months for respite care and the support and care I have received have been very good and caring so that my mobility has improved enough for me to return to my home and re-establish more independent living. My family and I would like to thank everyone involved for their tremendous teamwork.
Felt very welcomed by staff and residents alike. Everyone is very polite. Having not wanted to leave my home of 60+ years I have settled in now. I enjoy the security of feeling safe if ever I require assistance.
The home was a fantastic place for my mother for the last two and a half years. The staff are wonderful and so are the carers. The activities were really good and my mother was very happy to participate. It was a pleasant place to visit and the food menu was amazing. The rooms are spacious and the decor is tasteful. I would recommend The Hawthorns to anyone as I believe it is good value for money, with the service and facilities it has to offer.
Kindest Regards, Kate Gilligan.
When we visit our Aunt and Uncle they like to treat us to coffee and a biscuit or a piece of cake. When we visited last time none of the coffee machines on any of the floors were functional, nor were there any clean mugs available. We had to go behind the counters on all floors to wash up the mugs and find someone to see to the coffee machines. This was manageable for us but for my Aunt and Uncle, it was very stressful. Considering the amount of money they each pay for their care this is unacceptable. They want to welcome their family without hassle!
Thank you for your comments they enable us to improve our service. We are sorry to learn that your recent experience in the home was disappointing. At certain times during the day, our coffee machines undergo cleaning and replenishing, therefore, rendering them unusable for a short time. Our home...
Lovely care home. All the staff are very friendly, caring and seem to love their work and the residents. I have absolute faith and confidence in their care of my mother. I can't recommend them enough.
My mother was one of the very first residents of the Hawthorns and remained there until she passed away in June. From her initial visit to becoming a permanent resident, the service she has received has been first class all the way. In her final years, she wanted to live in a place where everything from meals to laundry and cleaning was catered for, without losing her independence and in the Hawthorns this is exactly what she got. We cannot praise too highly the standard of accommodation, the catering and the brilliant staff. My mother, until her health declined, took an active part in the outings and other activities and always enjoyed a glass of wine with her meal! When her health declined and she required care, she was looked after by the wonderful care team who treated with respect, kindness and dignity. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The Hawthorns is like living in a 5-star hotel and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a first-class care home in this area.
We put mum into The Hawthorns for respite while we were away. She has vascular dementia so the confusion for her was my main worry. The hand over was seamless and very thorough. The care she received was excellent and mum said that she was looked after very well. The home was clean and calm and I felt very confident leaving mum in their care.
The facilities are second to none, bowls, cinema, library, craft room, to name a few.
My mum has been here since 2015, one of the first residents. She loves it here. The staff are more like family. Friendly and always a smile on our visits. The food is also of excellent hotel standards.
The Hawthorns Aldridge offers a beautiful and tasteful hone for my mum to enjoy. Thank you all for making her so happy.
Food a bit hit and miss - difficult to ask for even the smallest change eg ask for jam and told to have marmalade.
Thought that one could order own choice meal 24 hours before but didn't seem to be so.
Carers very good - but need more - as sometimes wait quite long. Staff in dining room excellent but often under pressure.

Meet the Team (2)

Hi, I'm Mel! I'm an activities co-ordinator here at The Hawthorns. I've just joined the team and am excited to get to know all the staff and residents.

Hello, my name is Judy, and I am the Client Liaison Manager at The Hawthorns Care Home.
I started working at The Hawthorns in June 2026. My favourite part of the role is meeting new residents and showcasing the lovely facilities that The Hawthorns Care Home has to offer. We are lucky to have a beautiful home in Aldridge. We have residents who have lived with us for years and some who come for respite.
My background is sales, but there is nothing like this role and the satisfaction of helping families in their journey to find care for their loved one. I have over 10 years of experience in the care sector and have a strong understanding of care in the community and of the journey of looking for a care home for a loved one.
I help to support residents and their families with compassion as their loved ones transition into our care. I will also work closely with the local community, leading engagement initiatives and events to build meaningful connections that enrich life within the home.
I believe in creating a supportive environment where every resident feels valued, every family feels reassured, and our community feels welcomed and involved.
