Description: All over Great Britain care homes are coming alive with the sounds of the 'Sailor's Hornpipe'! Kiddleydivey provide therapeutic music sessions for the elderly in care homes, day centres and lunch clubs. They specialise in using music and singing to work with problems associated with Alzheimer’s and dementia and include and interact with every person in their groups. Their aim is to provide good quality sessions that promote socialisation, memory recall, physical mobilisation and also provide fun, laughter and support. The Kiddleydivey team all love the work that they do and particularly love the residents and elderly people they work with.

Absolutely loving this, how much difference can it make to a person's life to have someone come in and interact with them, have fun and tap into their long term memory. Music therapy does wonders!

So wonderful to see my lovely Beechsiders enjoying themselves one lady who is sadly no longer with us but enjoyed every moment of this musical experience. So fantastic to join up with care homes around the country and of course the other Kiddleydivas.

You make a living by what you get but you make a life by what you give! This is what Kiddleydivey is all about!

I teach care staff around the country and one of my clinical friends mentioned that they had seen this video. This is engagement! Simple but clearly great fun! Loved it! If only we could get more staff to spontaneously start activities like this then older adult care would be so much more rewarding for all!

What an amazing 'feel good' video, you just can't help but be moved by it. The enjoyment and engagement really shows! I love seeing all my regular homes and their wonderful residents, they are such an important (but sadly often forgotten) part of society and they have so much to tell and give.

Becoming part of the Kiddleydivey family has been such a wonderfully rewarding experience for me - enriching lives and spreading some musical cheer is the best job ever! How many people can honestly say they love going to work every day!? I certainly do! :-)

Kiddleydivey gets amazing results with the elderly. Whilst having fun, they are doing gentle exercises and remembering songs from long ago.

I really like this, lots of engagement with the Kiddleydivey team members and, fantastic interaction by the residents of the various care homes who are clearly enjoying themselves. The music and interaction clearly re-engaged those participating with wonderful memories. Looks like a great real fun session. Well done!

In our Kiddleydivey music sessions with the elderly, we love to play along to pieces of well-known classical music, really trying to emphasise the rhythm and get the strong beats in the right places, with different percussion instruments. The Sailor's Hornpipe was a big favourite as we introduced horns for the strong beats as well as drums, tambourines and bells. We always include everyone in our groups - even if they just want to wave a union flag! The result often causes great hilarity, fun, and laughter as well as social stimulation and the joy of working together as a group.
