Description

We seek an Activity Coordinator who can stimulate and motivate our vulnerable elderly residents by providing and organising activities, such as light exercises, therapeutic interaction, sensory stimulation, arts and crafts, puzzles, knitting, sing along, outings, events and lots more.

You will be responsible for bridging the gap between care and social wellbeing for the residents in our care, assisting the care team in engaging activities with the residents. You will be someone who is able to plan and organise activity programmes for our residents in accordance with their assessed needs and wishes as recorded in their care plans.

Overall your main objective will be to involve each and every resident in developing suitable programmes of activity and to work closely with other staff to ensure that they achieve the best possible outcomes for residents and comply with the homes policies, procedures and guidelines.

  • Be self-motivated and resilient
  • Good understanding of Person Centred Care
  • Have a passion for care
  • Have excellent communication skills, patience and creativity.
  • You will also have exceptional relationship building skills and work well as part of a team
  • Ability to motivate and engage people with good negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of the types of activities older people enjoy.
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use the internet

You needn't have any prior experience in the care industry, but you must be able to demonstrate a passion for the care sector with exceptional organisational and creativity skills.
