We are seeking to recruit on a part time basis an Activities Coordinator.  The successful post holder will be working at our service in Acrefield, Prenton, Wirral.  For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to utilise your creative and innovative skills.

JOB SUMMARY:  The successful post holder will be responsible providing organised activity, which will focus on the functional daily living skills of our residents, whilst taking into account the risk issues for each activity.

We are seeking someone to use technical and creative skills to plan and deliver, a flexible resident centred activity programme to suit individuals and groups of residents with a diagnosis of learning disability and other complex needs such as Autistic Spectrum Condition.  Some of the activities planned will include psychological, therapeutic, and meaningful achievements.

To monitor resident’s progress and continually assess resident’s function within the activities delivered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  To deliver a high level of professionalism whilst delivering activities.

Maintain good communication levels with Manager, Senior Care Assistants, Chef and relatives to ensure smooth operation of role and high levels of co-operation. Support all areas of team working within the home, to the extent that the role remains an integral element of the daily routines.

Complete records where required, to a satisfactory standard. Agree the type and quantity of record keeping with the manager on a monthly basis.

Ensure the individual rights of residents and staff are safeguarded in accordance with the services philosophy of care by being aware of the working practices and activities being delivered.

Encourage resident’s needs and develop resident activities goals for the written care plan.

Observe and maintain high levels of communication within the teams of staff, individual colleagues and residents.

ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH CARE (MHC):  Acrefield House is a mixed gender service in the heart of the community and offers a residential home for people living with a learning disability. Individuals are supported to enhance their living skills in readiness for more independent living.

Acrefield promotes independence and choice through person centred care and risk management strategies.

The home is located in the Prenton area situated on the Wirral Peninsula.

Salary:                   £7.65 per hour

Hours of work:      15 hours per week.
