Activities Co-ordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Activities Co-ordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to engage with a lounge of residents, understand their interests and provide a timetable of activities that will be thoroughly entertaining. It is essential to have a desire to work with the elderly and be comfortable working with residents with varying mental capacity. A passion for creativity will really benefit this role as the timetable is entirely up to you to create!

Previous experience within a similar role will be a distinct advantage but is not required.


The Activity Co-Ordinator role plays an important role within our team, and you will be supporting the Care Manager.

  • Encourage residents to join in with a range of activities.
  • Plan and deliver a varied timetable of activities such as arts and crafts, exercise class, sports, flower arranging, games, quizzes and many more.
  • Spend time with each resident individually to get to know them and their needs. This includes communicating with their relatives.
  • Manage a monthly budget for materials and resources.
  • Document daily the residents’ participation in activities.
  • Organise external entertainment such as singers.
  • Plan day trips and fund-raising events for the residents.

St. Anthony’s Residential Home is set in a peaceful residential area of Watford, near Cassiobury Park. We offer a homely environment for up to 22 elderly residents. Our aim is to deliver high standards of care, promoting our resident’s independence and quality of life.

We are committed to offering ongoing training and support to our staff, as well as providing opportunities to gain further qualifications in Activity Co-Ordination through the Champion Pathways Scheme.
