Job Summary

Nursing assistants are valued members of the care team who assist the registered nursing staff to provide a high standard of quality care to patients.

Care and General Responsibilities

1. Social interaction – involvement in recreation or educational activities and befriending patients;
2. Washing and bathing supervision;
3. Supervision dietary needs;
4. Helping people to mobilise or keep fit, escorting on walks;
5. Encouraging communication skills;
6. Bed making – tidying of rooms, helping patients to learn these skills;
7. Generally assisting with patients overall comfort;
8. Monitoring patients conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respiration and weight after training);
9. Monitoring basic mood change and communication this to senior staff.
10. Assist with serving meals
11. Laundry Duties as required
12. Kitchen duties as required
13. Assist with general duties within the Home as delegated by person in charge of Home

Educational Responsibilities

You do not need any formal qualifications to be a nursing assistant. We are looking for caring, motivated and enthusiastic people to come and join us.

Health Care Assistants may have the opportunity to obtain an NVQ qualification in care up to Level 3.
