What You Will Do
As a Care Assistant at Oaklea, you will provide person-centred
care that supports each resident’s dignity, comfort, and wellbeing.
You will assist residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and
hydration, working in a respectful and enabling way. Using calm and
reassuring communication, you will build trust and support residents’
emotional wellbeing, helping to reduce any distress. You will observe
and report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional health to
the nursing team, ensuring care is responsive and safe. Working
closely with colleagues, you will maintain a structured and
dementia-friendly environment that feels secure, familiar, and
supportive. You will also encourage residents to take part in
meaningful daily routines and activities that bring purpose, joy, and connection.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and motivated
individual who is passionate about supporting people living with
dementia. Previous experience in a care home or hospital is welcomed
but not essential. A positive attitude towards training and personal
development is important, and SVQ/NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social
Care is preferred or you should be willing to work towards it. You
will thrive as part of a close-knit, supportive team, collaborating
with nurses, families, and fellow carers.
Training & Development
You will be supported with a comprehensive dementia care
development programme, hands-on mentoring, and opportunities to
progress into senior roles, such as Senior Care Assistant or Team
Leader, as your confidence and skills grow.
