Earlsferry House Care Home is set in a stunning coastal location in the beautiful town of Elie and Earlsferry. Our welcoming 26 bed home provides Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care in a warm and nurturing environment where every meal is made with care and attention to detail.

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team and deliver high quality, nutritious and comforting meals for our residents.

What We Offer

  •  £12.50 per hour
  •  Contracted to 20 hours per week
  •  Paid PVG,  Pension scheme,  Uniform provided
  •  5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

What You Will Do
You will prepare, cook and serve a variety of hot and cold meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of residents. Working with the Head Chef, you will assist with menu planning to ensure balanced, nutritious and enjoyable meals using fresh ingredients where possible. You will maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness, manage stock and supplies, complete temperature checks and records, and ensure equipment and crockery are cleaned and stored correctly. You will support a calm, welcoming dining experience and contribute to the overall wellbeing of residents through thoughtful, timely service.

What We Are Looking For

  •  City and Guilds 706 1 and 2 or equivalent qualification achieved or working towards
  •  Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  •  Experience preparing meals for people with specific dietary needs is desirable
  •  Ability to work well as part of a small kitchen team and to use initiative when required
  •  Good communication skills and a caring approach
