Position: Lifestyles Assistant
Location: Penylan, Cardiff
Type: Permanent - 21.5 hours pw over a 7 day rota
Salary: £13.81ph

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assisting in the delivery of a varied activities programme that reflects each resident’s individuality.
• Supporting the Lifestyle Lead to promote events and activities across the home.
• Helping review residents’ needs and engagement levels to keep activities fresh and effective.
• Encouraging relationship-centred care so residents feel empowered to make lifestyle choices.
• Building strong links with the local community to bring in volunteers and partnerships.
• Recording resident engagement and celebrating successes.
• Creating positive relationships with residents, relatives, and visitors to encourage participation.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications aren’t necessary to become a Lifestyle Assistant with us, but previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous. Above all, we're looking for individuals who are personable, compassionate, and genuinely interested in connecting with our residents and their families. If you possess these qualities, we'll provide you with ample opportunities to further develop your skills through tailored courses designed to boost your confidence in every aspect of your role.

Desirable:

• QCF Level 2 in Activity Provision (or willingness to work towards – we’ll support you!)
• Comfortable using IT, including tablets and computers.
• Experience organising events and activities, ideally with older people or those living with dementia.

Personal qualities: Caring, compassionate, enthusiastic, flexible, approachable, and committed to delivering high-quality service. Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to change are essential.
