Maintenance/Gardener

Job summary

Become a member of the Maryville Care Home team as a Maintenance/Gardener and take pride in keeping the building in good, safe condition. You will also be responsible for the tidiness and maintenance of the gardens and grounds, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for the elderly residents. The home seeks a team member like you who will prioritise attention to detail and the safety of our residents' living spaces every day. Your duties will include regularly inspecting the building for both major and minor repairs, clearing leaves and debris from drains, gutters, and flat rooftops, and sweeping away leaves. You will thoroughly clean all vents, the boiler room, the garage, and the workshops; routinely lift manholes around the premises and disinfect them; and carry out painting and decorating tasks as needed. You will also ensure that all tools and equipment are securely locked up at the end of each day; that all paints, thinners, glues, and other toxic substances are properly sealed and stored; that flower beds and shrubs are well-maintained; and that garden waste is disposed of correctly. Additionally, you will keep records of tools and equipment and conduct various monthly audits, as well as perform other tasks assigned by management.
