Acting on the instructions of joint administrators, Chris Marsden and Ian Best of Ernst & Young LLP, leading business agent Christie + Co is delighted to announce the successful sale of Knights Templar Court care home in Templecombe, near Wincanton in Somerset, for an undisclosed sum.
Located in Throop Road, just off the centre of the village of Templecombe, Knights Templar Court care home comprises three houses which have been linked together to form the current trading facility, with accommodation on the ground and first floors. The property benefits from 16 single and two twin bedrooms, 13 of which are en suite, and is situated on a plot of approximately three acres. The care home sits to the north west side of the plot, with surrounding gardens mainly laid to lawn with a variety of shrubs and plants.
After being instructed by the administrators, a structured marketing campaign was entered into, which resulted in a high level of both viewings and offers received. There was interest in the property from both applicants looking to carry on the business as a care home and also from developers.
Knights Templar Court was purchased by Mrs Jean Lubbock and Mrs Chris Ramsay, who are existing care home operators based in Dorset. They currently run a very successful and well regarded care home which specialises in dementia. It is their intention to upgrade Knights Templar Court and trade it at a similarly high standard as at their other existing care home.
Charles Phillips, the Director at Christie + Co who handled this sale, commented: “After a strong marketing campaign, we are delighted that Mrs Lubbock and Mrs Ramsay have secured the purchase of Knights Templar Court. Based on the performance at their current care home, and having seen how well it has been improved, we expect that trade will increase dramatically at Knights Templar Court once the property has been refurbished. The business represents an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and dynamic purchasers such as Mrs Lubbock and Mrs Ramsay.”
