MHS homes Wi-Fi installation in residential homes

MHS homes have continued to use NCS Technology as one of their core solution providers because they have always been happy with the work provided.

“I contacted Steve at NCS about this project and he said straight away that he would arrange a site survey (free of charge) and on the day of the visit he attended with Dean (an expert in the field). The survey was carried out quickly and within 24 hours the quote came in. We had to wait for approval for the cost however, in this time Dean had thought up a cheaper, more effective option for us (without us asking). Background:

NCS were asked to supply and install 20 WI-FI APs across 20 residential care homes and to source a cloud based management system to help with remote Wi-Fi management.

Prior to the installation, each of the residential care homes had only a BT ADSL line installed, to cater for the 250 users on the network. The ideal solution for mhs homes was to have a system that could be managed centrally through a cloud based interface. This allowed mhs homes to have more visibility and reduce complexity, whilst allowing the monitoring and configuring of all of their wireless access points, at their remote locations, from one central location.

The Solution:

The solution was to install a XIRRUS Cloud Management portal, along with XIRRUS wireless APs. The benefits of such a solution has been endless, residents can now use their own devices to access the internet; meaning there is a better digital inclusion and increased social engagement and communication between residents and families.
