Cedar Lawn in Stratford upon Avon has joined an elite number of care homes after receiving an ‘outstanding’ in its Care Quality Commission inspection report.

Run by national charity MHA, Cedar Lawn is one of just 60 care homes across England to be judged as outstanding out of more than 10,000 already inspected by the CQC.

Inspectors praised Cedar Lawn for its ‘very strong person-centred culture’, adding that staff ‘demonstrated they were highly skilled in understanding the importance of meaningful relationships with people’.

Other highlights of the report include: • Mealtimes were an extremely enjoyable and sociable occasion • There was a strong and passionate senior team in place who knew the standard of care was of the highest standard • The inspectors saw registered manager Linda Traynier demonstrated passion and a commitment to providing excellent service for people and their relatives • People were treated with dignity and staff knew and treated residents as individuals • The manager demonstrated clear leadership and promoted MHA’s values consistently.

In addition to the ‘outstanding’ CQC report, Cedar Lawn has recently scored 100 per cent resident satisfaction in the recent independent Your Care rating survey and is in the Top 20 recommended care homes in the West Midlands on www.carehome.co.uk

Home Manager Linda Traynier said: “This is a very special report for Cedar Lawn and all the staff and the home deserve it.

“The secret of our success can be put down to the values that MHA has and the way that the staff care for each and every one of our residents. The staff here work together brilliantly. They never let each other down. Care comes from within and shines through into everything that we do for our resident’s.

“When you have a home like Cedar Lawn it seems so special.”

MHA Regional Director Karen Slater said: “I am exceptionally proud of Linda and all the staff at Cedar Lawn for achieving this outstanding CQC report. In my mind, they were outstanding anyway but to have external confirmation of it by CQC means so much.”
