A delegation from Singapore have visited two properties run by Anchor to find out about best practice, high standards of care and older people’s housing.
The officials from Ageing Asia were on a fact-finding trip to the UK and decided to visit Hampshire Lakes, a retirement village in Yateley, and West Hall, a care home in West Byfleet, as part of their tour.
They were particularly interested in Anchor as it is England’s largest not-for-profit provider of care and housing working with 40,000 older people. Rob Martin, Anchor’s Head of Care Quality, said: “The visit by care service leaders from Singapore included a tour of Willow Gardens care home, in the heart of Hampshire Lakes retirement village.
“Hampshire Lakes is one of our newest villages delivering an unrivalled retirement living experience with carefully tailored support.
“The delegation were then shown round our flagship care home West Hall, which has won national awards for its dementia friendly interior design as well as its fine dining experience.”
The delegations saw for themselves how older people are cared for in Britain with visits also to St Christopher’s Hospice and the Extracare Charitable Trust.
