There will be fluffy onesies and mouth-watering cakes when a Sanctuary Care home in Hersden throw open the doors to raise money for a charity close to their hearts.
Next week the team and residents at Meadow View Residential Care Home in Blackthorn Road are inviting local people to their pyjama themed Time for a Cuppa tea party in aid of Dementia UK on Tuesday 7 March, between 2pm and 4pm.
Visitors are invited to pop along and enjoy a hot drink and a variety of sweet treats and dainty cakes in return for a donation to Dementia UK, as well as taking part in a raffle with a range of wonderful prizes.
The team will also be donating £2 each for dressing in their finest pyjamas for the special celebration.
91-year-old resident Beryl Palmer said: “Our tea party will be a lot of fun, I always like all the cakes and the pyjamas are a lot of fun – I’m really looking forward to it.”
The Sanctuary Care home’s manager Matt Wood added: “Being a residential dementia care home we always strive to support dementia charities and the annual Time for a Cuppa fundraising drive is very close to all our hearts.
“There will be delicious cakes and great company at our celebrations so we hope as many people from the community can pop along and support us.”
Time for a Cuppa is Dementia UK’s annual fundraising event; a national day which brings people together over a cuppa to raise money for the charity, which will be used to fund Admiral Nurses, specialist dementia nurses who provide care, advice and support to families living with dementia.
