The Art Club at Hallgarth Care Home in Durham took on the challenge of painting the willow pattern, of a young couple who fell in love.
With a large range of willow patterns to choose from, pots, plates, coasters and a chopping board, everyone set to work on their masterpieces. Some chose a specific part of the story to paint while others decided to paint it all.
Angela Muir, Home Manager, explained: “We found that there are a few variations of the story the plates depicted. But between us we made up our own story and dediced it to be the true story of the willow pattern plate, according to us!
“Art Club is open to everyone to join, residents, family and friends. We have a few art lovers who like to come along not to paint, but for a good chatter, music and a cup of tea and cake.”
