Perfect pampering at our Spa Day

Residents at Meyrick Rise Care Home enjoyed an afternoon of blissful pampering when the Magic Moments Club team treated everyone to a relaxing Spa experience.

Magic Moments Club assistants Leanne and Vicki welcomed residents and family members to our hair and beauty salon to unwind and rejuvenate with a selection of relaxing treatments.

Feet were plunged into warm bubble baths while a choice of fruity, creamy or clay face packs were applied. Our residents did not need much persuading to sit back and relax with a nice glass of wine, while gentle music, soft lights and warm aromas filled the salon.

Resident Jean made everyone laugh when asked if she had enjoyed her afternoon and would like to do it again replied, “What, tomorrow? Yes please!”

Our resident John, a retired pig farmer, couldn’t believe that at the age of 94 he and his wife had never experienced anything like this before and couldn’t wait to phone his daughters to let them know what he had been up to all afternoon.

Leanne said, “Our Spa afternoon was a wonderful way to relax and unwind and we love treating our residents to experiences that make them feel special. Our Spa is now known as ‘Our Happy Place’ and we’ll be arranging another day of pampering very soon.”

Every brighterkind home now has a Magic Moments Club which provides a vast range of activities and fun things to do that are open to all of our residents.

The idea behind Magic Moments is that just because someone moves into a care home doesn't mean that the things they love doing should suddenly stop – quite the contrary, we believe our residents should have the opportunity to love every day, by doing the things that they have always loved as well as trying new things along the way.
