Residents at HC-One’s Ailsa Craig care home in Glasgow recently took part in NAPA’s care decorating competition for Tea Tuesday.
Ailsa Craig residents Gail Allan, Iris Linsey and Ena McEwan all helped Donna McCuaig, the homes wellbeing coordinator, decorate some lovely cakes that had to be tea-themed for their entry into the Tea Tuesday competition.
Donna also helped decorate a tea trolley with a variety of different hot teas, ranging from apple crumble, lemon meringue, and very berry all served in Ailsa Craig’s finest teacups.
Colleagues also offered Residents a selection of iced tea's ranging from black tea with mango & vanilla, green tea with strawberry & rhubarb and an Earl Grey mocktail all served with some home-baking and cupcakes.
Ailsa Craig Resident, Iris Linsey said: “The cakes taste that good, you could sell them. The lemon meringue tea was lovely, I didn't think I would like it.”
Ailsa Craig Residents and Colleagues all thoroughly enjoyed the day whether it be commenting on how pretty the tea trolley looked & how wonderful the cake was and all of the teas went down a treat.
Ailsa Craig Home Manager, Lynsey Armstrong said: “The good thing about this activity is the Residents that were in their rooms could also participate in this activity and had the opportunity to converse and engage with Donna on her rounds.”
