Friendship month

We celebrated friendship month in September by asking our care homes to send in photos and stories of friendships within the homes to us and we sent each couple some cupcakes to enjoy as a prize.

The winner of our competition were two beautiful ladies who live at Bankview Care Home in Banknock.

Their story is just so lovely and heart-warming.

They met aged five in Primary School and were friends straight away. As they grew up they remained friends into young adulthood. Then they got married and had children of their own and lost touch (as people tend to do)

As they aged both found themselves needing some extra care and moved into Bankview Care Home where they met again and were so delighted to see each other. This has definitely helped them both settle into their new home and also throughout the pandemic when visits from family and friends were initially not allowed at all, and currently only few and short. They have each other for comfort and friendship.

They were sent an afternoon tea to enjoy from us at the end of September as a Thank you for sharing their story and making us all smile :)
