Finney House mark what would have been Sir Tom Finney’s 100th birthday

Today Finney House celebrated what would have been their namesake and Preston North End football legend, Sir Tom Finney’s 100th birthday. They planted a Cherry Blossom tree ‘centre field’ of the lawn so that it will hopefully be in bloom every year on his birthday. Sir Tom’s son Brian kindly helped to plant it by shovelling in the soil.

Sadly, it was too cold for residents to be outside, but they marked the day with a football themed afternoon tea and Music Man Dave - also a big fan of Sir Tom entertained everyone with his songs and even bought in some treasured memorabilia of Sir Tom's footballing career. Looking on are some of Finney Houses team members along with home manager Madhu Reddy and Procurement Director Graeme Duncan.

Thankfully the rain kept away, and they didn’t have to dash from a ‘splash’ of water.
