Redditch & Bromsgrove Talking Newspapers

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Hedley Brook-Carter, chair of Redditch and Bromsgrove Talking Newspaper into Studley Rose.

The group, in association with RNIB, is run by a committee of volunteers and provides access to stories within the local newspapers for those who are blind or partially sighted via a listening device.

Stories from the local news are recorded by the volunteers in Redditch and then saved onto a memory stick that is sent out to 100’s of listeners across our local community.

Funded by grants and local contributions, the organisation even provides the device that allows the stories to be played via the USB. We are delighted to be introducing Talking Newspapers to Studley Rose and can’t wait to see the huge benefit we know this will bring to those living with us.

Talking Newspaper will be joining us at our upcoming Care Fayre on Wednesday 7th August from 6 – 8 pm, so why not come along and find out more about this incredible organisation.
