At Watermead Rose Care & Nursing Home we enjoy celebrating all cultures and festivities. Recently we held different events to celebrate Navratri, Diwali and the Gujarati New Year. As part of Navratri we welcomed a group of authentic dancers who gave us a suberb display of dancing in their amazing costumes. They encouraged our resident's to get involved and play the instruments to the beat of the music. Our residents really enjoyed this colourful festival, the music, prayers and wonderful treats made by our chefs. Diwali was a special time throughout the home where we displayed pretty lights and played authentic music. Over the Gujarati New Year we welcomed families, friends and the local community to come and enjoy the sweet and savory treats made by our chefs. Our residents learnt the art of Rangoli patterns and some of our staff created a show piece that we proudly featured in our reception. A local brother and sister visited our home and stopped to chat to the residents. They kindly brought boxes of sweet treat for all of our residents to enjoy, such a wonderful act of kindness. Thank you to everyone who joined us during these celebrations.
