A much-loved housekeeper at Brockwell Court Care Home in Consett has retired at the age of 84. Pat Casson has worked at the care home for 24 years, and residents have said they will miss her “brilliant sense of humour” and the fun and laughter she brought to everyone. One of the residents, said: “Pat was part of the furnishings of our home, and it will be strange not to see her around. She was always a friendly face and so easy to get along with. People could rely on Pat; she would make time to chat with all the residents and had a brilliant sense of humour. We’ll miss her terribly, but her retirement is so well deserved.” Becca Boyle, Home Manager, said: “Pat has been a shining star at Brockwell Court for the last 24 years and we are all very sad to see her go. I’m sure she’ll enjoy spending more time with her family and friends and will come back to see us often. We all wish her the very best for a long and happy retirement.” Brockwell Court Care Home is in Cobden Street, Consett, and provides residential, nursing, residential dementia, palliative, respite and intermediate care.
