Altrincham care home hosts fundraising afternoon tea

A care home in Altrincham recently held a charity afternoon tea and raised £539 to donate to Marie Curie.

Woodend Bupa Care Home held an afternoon tea for residents, staff, and families to all enjoy. The afternoon was yellow themed for Marie Curie, with attendees donning all yellow in support. The staff baked a variety of cakes and sweet treats and local restaurant, Chilli Club, donated almond tarts, which were included in a special fundraising raffle.

Home manager at Woodend Bupa Care Home, Jane Abdoh, commented: “It was a lovely afternoon. I was so proud to see our residents, staff and families all come together for such an important cause.”

Mary Dredge, resident at Woodend, added: “The afternoon tea was delightful! I ate a delicious cake and entered the raffle. It was a wonderful get-together to support the charity.”

Woodend residents, staff and their families raised a total of £539 for Marie Curie and look forward to hosting future fundraising events in the coming months.
