Sunshine, Smiles and Special Moments: A Day at Rufford Park

Residents and team members from Liberty House Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, recently enjoyed a wonderful trip to Rufford Park, filled with sunshine, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The day featured a leisurely stroll around the beautiful gardens and lake, a fun adventure through the maze, rounds of crazy golf, and lots of smiles as everyone watched lifestyle coordinator Jody brave the slide at the park! The highlight was a relaxed picnic enjoyed under the glorious sunshine. Kennedy, a member of the care team, summarised the day, "I had a really wonderful day with our residents. It's so special to me that I get to be a part of trips out. They truly enjoy themselves." The outing was inspired by a conversation with Roy, one of the residents at Liberty House, who mentioned he would love a trip to a park. Taking his suggestion on board, the team discovered Rufford Park – the perfect spot for a day of fun and relaxation. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and joy, with everyone smiling throughout the day. A cafe worker at Rufford Park shared her compliments to the Liberty House team, commenting that “It’s wonderful to see the wonderful work you do to give the residents a wonderful time.” Events like these are so important for residents’ wellbeing. Getting out into the community, experiencing new adventures, and soaking up the sunshine helps maintain a strong sense of belonging and brings immense happiness.
