Newgate Lodge Care Home Receives Support From Rotary Club

Newgate Lodge Care Home, based in Mansfield, has received a generous £1,000 donation from the Mansfield Rotary Club to support its ongoing fundraising efforts towards a specialist dementia table.

The £1,000 cheque was presented at the Newgate Lodge Summer Fayre on Saturday 6th September with representatives of The Rotary Club and Newgate Lodge Care Home present.

Newgate Lodge Care Home, which is part of the Lidder Care group, is a residential care home that supports elderly residents with day-to-day care.

Manjas Lidder, Managing Director at Lidder Care said: ‘We are incredibly grateful to the Mansfield Rotary Club for their generous support. We are proud to have strong connections with local organisations like theirs, working together to make a real difference in the lives of our residents and the wider Mansfield community.’

Mansfield Rotary is a community-based organisation focused on supporting the local community, organising fundraisers and being involved in community-building events.

Stewart Rickersey, Secretary at Mansfield Rotary, said: ‘Mansfield Rotary is proud to support Newgate Lodge in its fundraising campaign to provide specialist dementia interactive Activity Touch Tables for residents.’

‘Mansfield Rotary is delighted that its contribution will help make a meaningful and lasting difference for residents, their families, and the dedicated staff who care for them.’

Lidder Care has organised a variety of fundraising activities, including a 15KM Tough Mudder challenge, fancy dress walks across Mansfield and Ashfield and a 77-mile exercise bike ride challenge, raising over £8,500 to date.

The specialist dementia table engages residents with interactive activities and games, stimulating memory and cognitive function, encouraging social interaction and providing therapeutic enjoyment.

Lidder Care are a family-run care group based in Mansfield and Ashfield, who run Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield, Lowmoor Nursing Home in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Lidder Home Care, providing care to individuals in their own home across Nottinghamshire.
