Residents at HC-One’s Dale Park Care Home in Southport, Merseyside, enjoyed a trip down memory lane on Friday 7th November, as the home hosted a special ‘Tom the Barrack Room Boy’ mini concert to mark Remembrance commemorations.

In the days leading up to the event, residents and team members worked together to create beautiful handmade poppies and decorate the home’s lounge with flags and patriotic displays, setting the perfect atmosphere for the nostalgic performance.

The concert, led by entertainer Tom the Barrack Room Boy, featured a wonderful selection of old wartime songs, which had everyone joining in, singing along, and sharing fond memories of years gone by.

Events like this form part of Dale Park’s commitment to providing meaningful activities and moments of joy for residents, celebrating shared history and community spirit throughout the year.

Lorcan Montgomery, Senior Wellbeing Coordinator at HC-One’s Dale Park Care Home, said: “Our residents had such a fantastic afternoon. They really enjoyed the music and the opportunity to reminisce together. The atmosphere was so warm and uplifting, it’s always lovely to see everyone smiling and singing along to the songs they remember so well.”
