The residents at The Pines Care & Nursing Home in Brighton and Hove proudly took part in Cakes for Kindness Day, joining a nationwide effort to share compassion and connection through baking. The Pines residents spent the day creating a selection of homemade sweet treats, which were then delivered to our local homeless day program, the First Base Day Centre. Care Homes across the Country Court group participated in Cake4Kindness Day on Thursday, the 20th of November. Cake4Kindness is a registered not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC) with a vision to alleviate loneliness and social isolation for those experiencing homelessness through the distribution of cakes. Tiago Conceicao, Home Manager commented. “This event was a rewarding experience for everyone involved. Our residents enjoyed baking together for a community cause and helping to bring some comfort to people experiencing homelessness. Cakes4Kindness is a not-for-profit initiative focused on reducing loneliness and social isolation among those facing homelessness. By sharing homemade bakes, the campaign helps create small moments of connection, something our residents were pleased to contribute to. We look forward to continuing activities that support kindness, inclusion, and positive community impact.” More photos and moments from the day can be viewed on The Pines Care Home Facebook page.
