Residents and staff at Highview Lodge Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, came together on 8 June to celebrate the retirement of long-serving carer Sue Risley, marking the end of an incredible 25-year career dedicated to caring for residents and supporting the home’s community.
To honour Sue’s remarkable contribution, colleagues organised a surprise retirement celebration complete with party poppers, cakes, gifts and heartfelt tributes. Residents and staff gathered to thank Sue for her years of commitment, kindness and compassion, creating a special send-off for a much-loved member of the team.
Sue, who has been a familiar and caring presence at Highview Lodge Care Home for more than two decades, expressed her gratitude to those she worked alongside throughout her career.
Sue said: “Thank you to everyone, it has been a pleasure to work with you all.”
Throughout her 25 years at Highview Lodge Care Home, Sue has consistently gone above and beyond for residents, building strong relationships and providing exceptional care. Her dedication, warmth and unwavering support have made a lasting impact on countless residents, families and colleagues.
Lisa, Senior Home Manager at Highview Lodge, said: “Sue has dedicated 25 years of service to the home. Throughout that time she has remained loving, caring and has always gone above and beyond for the residents she cares for. She will be truly missed by everyone at Highview Lodge.”
The celebration was filled with appreciation and fond memories as staff and residents reflected on Sue’s many years of service. While she will be greatly missed, everyone at Highview Lodge Care Home wishes Sue a long, happy and well-deserved retirement.
