Making a Difference Together Residents and team members from St Pauls Care Centre recently enjoyed a wonderful day out in the local community to mark World Environment Day. Combining fresh air, friendship, and environmental action.
Four residents – Marion, Gillian, Jean, and Gary – joined Activities Team members Lucy and Sara, alongside family member Karen, for a special community litter-picking initiative at Gadebridge Park.
Working Together for a Cleaner Community The local council kindly provided litter pickers, collection bags, and high-visibility vests, enabling everyone to play their part in keeping the park clean and welcoming for local visitors.
Over the course of two hours, the group walked around the park. They collected litter and recyclable materials while enjoying the surroundings. The activity supported the local environment while giving residents the chance to get involved in their community. It was a wonderful opportunity to make a positive contribution to a cause that benefits everyone.
Enjoying the Great Outdoors After a productive morning, residents enjoyed a picnic in the park, sharing refreshments, conversation, and a well-earned hot chocolate together.
Residents shared how much they enjoyed the experience. Gary commented on how lovely the park was, while Marion enjoyed spending time out in the community. Jean said she felt proud to be part of an activity that helps others and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Lucy, Activities Lead said: ‘It was great to see our residents getting involved in something that benefits the whole community. The day gave everyone the opportunity to enjoy a little fresh air, spend time together, and make a difference to a local space that so many people enjoy.”
Building Community Connections At St Pauls, we are passionate about helping residents remain connected to the communities around them. Activities like this provide meaningful opportunities to stay active, meet people, enjoy local spaces, and make a positive contribution.
World Environment Day was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate that everyone can make a difference. Our residents were delighted to play their part in helping to keep Gadebridge Park looking its best.
