Recipient: Ashfield Nursing & Residential Home

Date: Sunday 01 Nov 2026

The Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Award, formally known as the GSF Quality Hallmark Award, is a nationally recognised accreditation given to health and social care organisations that demonstrate high-quality end-of-life care. The award is achieved by organisations that complete the GSF training programme and successfully implement its standards into everyday practice, providing evidence that care is proactive, well coordinated and centred on the needs and wishes of individuals approaching the end of life. Assessment focuses on areas such as early identification, advance care planning, effective communication, teamwork and support for families. Once accredited, organisations are recognised as GSF Accredited and may display the Quality Hallmark as a marker of excellence, which is also acknowledged by external bodies such as the Care Quality Commission. Accreditation typically lasts for three years, with opportunities for re-accreditation and higher levels of recognition for organisations that sustain and build on their standards over time.
