Went to visit my friend, there was a patients meeting, and I was invited. I was very impressed with the management, everything was covered, from food to things they like to do, the staff are brilliant.

Mum passed away recently, having been cared for at Buttercup for the last 18 months of her life. When visiting her she was always clean and tidy and always seemed to be very happy interacting with the staff and taking part in any activities, apart from the last couple of months when her health and
her memory really deteriorated. When this happened she was cared for with compassion, love and smiles from the very kind staff and her face would light up when any of them were with her. Family members were always made very welcome when visiting and we were always made aware of any concerns regarding her welfare. I would thoroughly recommend Buttercup because of it's homely and friendly feel.

What a lovely home! The staff are friendly and so caring! There is a lovely homely atmosphere. As a visitor we have joined in the regular entertainment and made so welcome!. The facilities are bright and always so clean. The other residents seem happy and my mum loves taking part in the singing and
watching the other residents and staff dance together. Although she struggles with her memory she talks about it often.

Mum has been a Buttercup House Care Home resident for around a year.
We were invited to participate in a staff training workshop. The gentleman from the training company said it would be informal and if we wanted to we could speak about Mum's life before coming to the home and our feelings since
her arrival.
Several of the care home staff attended and were engaged in the discussions, asking questions and relating their experiences with Mum.
The workshop lasted about half an hour and we felt incredibly positive that the staff had listened and had a better understanding of Mum's situation and specific needs.
Both my husband and I would encourage other families to attend this type of workshop, well done to the gentleman from the training company and the members of Buttercup House staff.
Thanks.

My mother's admittance was put in place within a few days.
On arrival at Buttercup House, we felt that the care home provided for Mum was welcoming, smaller, with a friendly atmosphere. Staff made us feel at ease, showing us around the premises.
Knowing that she was in a safe environment, being
looked after 24 hours was a great relief.
Prompting her meals, medication and helping with her personal care made the transition to the care home the best alternative for everyone concerned in her well-being.
Mum's health at times declined, the staff would call the doctor's surgery, who promptly came, examined and monitored her health with continuous updates to all concerned.
Other concerns and questions raised are met with understanding, guidance and acted on. Giving me peace of mind and knowing that Mum's care, safety and well-being are what's important.
Buttercup House management team and staff are very much appreciated. Thank you.

Today I went to visit my mum and I was also invited to watch the staff do “Britain’s Got Talent” for the residents. The staff were amazing and danced and sang and everyone was clapping and singing and laughing. One chap who is a resident there joined in dancing too. Everyone involved at Buttercup
House always goes above and beyond for my mum (and everyone else). Whenever I visit, I’m always given a warm welcome. My mum is always clean and tidy and she loves the food. Such a lovely home.

My mother has been at Buttercup House for around 3 months. The care from the staff has been fantastic and there's been lots of activities for her to do. The food is great, always very clean and tidy when I have visited so I would say 10 out of 10.

My dad came to Buttercup House in June. We were invited to visit the home before deciding on the place. My husband and I were shown all around the home, the facilities, met the staff, other residents and all our questions and concerns were answered. My dad had numerous mobility issues and equipment
which were all easily accommodated. The team do all they can to make this feel like home for the residents, getting to know their interests, hobbies etc. There are also lots of activities and days such as BBQs, which families are invited to come and share in. Most reasonable special requests seem to be approved if given prior notice, which made such a big difference. I was also extremely impressed by the precautions routinely in place to prevent a Covid infection. Gloves, aprons and masks are provided at every visit and proof of a negative LFT is needed.
The home was always very clean. There is a very good relationship between the home and the surgery, with any health worries being acted on.

My friend was taken to Buttercup House following a hospital admission due to having had a fall at home. Originally it was to help her recovery, but she decided to stay. She is physically challenged but her mind is as sharp as ever. This does present some problems as most of the residents suffer from
dementia and she can feel the lack of conversational stimulus. The staff are aware of this and try to spend as much time with her as they can to provide that stimulus. She is choosy about her food but the cook is always asking her what food they can provide which she will eat. I have not seen it inside, due to Covid, but the garden is lovely. My friend likes her room very much, she also praises the staff. They are kindness itself and make visitors, as well as residents, feel welcome. No care home is perfect but Buttercup House comes close.

The staff are very helpful and caring. They really do know what the residents and what the residents need. The accommodation is good, it's always clean and tidy. The staff are always aware of dietary needs and so as a resident you are always given the right kind of food for you. The staff are
usually aware if a resident is unwell or upset. They establish good relationships. We have a programme of activities, for example, cheese tasting and making bird houses.
16 June 2021
Because of Covid restrictions being in place since before the resident came to Buttercup House, I have not been inside the home, only the gardens and the wood chalet in the garden. Therefore, my responses are only based on what I have seen through the windows or those related by the carer. I have
had limited telephone and face-to-face contact with some staff members during the time of my visits, but I have not seen how staff interact with residents or provide care. The resident has told me she struggles to hear/understand what some of the staff say due to their accents. Activities currently rated as poor but this is due to covid restrictions.
