I cannot recommend Merryfield highly enough. We were welcomed with open arms in their "Home from Home" environment after a prolonged hospital stay. The staff are very caring and the food and activities are excellent.

My husband was admitted to Merryfield House with advanced dementia. We are very pleased with the care he receives. The communication from all the staff is excellent. The caring is given with respect and empathy and complete understanding for relatives. We are very happy with our decision to have him cared for in Merryfield.

Merryfield made my dad's birthday special by throwing a tea party. They decorated the dining room with birthday decorations and made a lovely spread of cakes and sandwiches. They also made a birthday cake and the staff came in and sang with us. They take great care with looking after dad and the other residents.

Lovely place to stay, not like a care facility, more a home from home. My mum came on very well here, from someone who just sat in a chair all day to a lady walking around and going outside.

Very pleased with the service quick response to get our mum in for respite. Staff excellent. Kept in formed of anything to do with Mum. Many thanks for everything.

We moved my father-in-law to Merryfield in Nov 2024 following very poor care in another nursing home in Witney, sadly he died 5 weeks ago ! I am so pleased Merryfield was recommended to us, moving a 95 year old is a big decision! But for us, the best decision, as for the last few months of his life we felt he was cared for, and it has been a pleasure to see how all the Merryfield staff go beyond the call of duty to give exceptional care to their residents making sure they feel part of the Merryfield family. During the last few months I felt my farther-in- law was given his dignity back and cared for. I am finding it impossible to singe out a member of staff as they are all exceptional. They always made us feel welcome when we visited and even arranged a tea part to celebrate his 96th birthday 3 weeks prior to his death. A wonderful memory for his family Thank you Merryfield

A nice property with plenty of caring, friendly and helpful staff - to resident and visitor alike. Activities and food on offer appear to be plentiful and of good quality.

We were so pleased that Merryfield was recommended to us when looking for a care home for Dad, it has not disappointed and has exceeded our expectations, much praise and thanks must go to the staff and management for helping Dad with the transition. It's like a home from home! He is happy and is receiving excellent care and his needs are being fully met, we are delighted! Thank you!

I find the carers very friendly and caring, bringing cups of tea and having a chat. I love coming to see my sister and having a chat with the staff and others. It's good to know that my sister is well cared for.

Moving a parent to a care home is a huge and sometimes difficult decision but we knew, immediately, that we had chosen the right place. Every member of staff is friendly, caring and highly professional. We are delighted and our dad would award yu all 110% if he could - his words! Thank you to everyone.

Writing on behalf of my whole family, we would like to thank all the staff at Merryfield Nursing Home for looking after my father with such dignity, care and attention during his final weeks. There is a happy atmosphere at Merryfield and the staff are all so lovely to be around. There is a feeling of genuine, humble service and personal, caring attention to the residents. My father was really well looked after, had his own room and bathroom, and was checked regularly. Family were free to come and go as needed and we developed friendships with staff who were always available to answer concerns. Our doctor said that Merryfield is the nicest nursing home he has visited in Oxfordshire and I can believe it. We are so happy that we made the decision to take my father to Merryfield. We miss you all!

All the staff are gentle, kind and professional. Despite my father-in-law's memory being poor, he seems to have formed a relationship with them. He is courteous to them and they respond in kind and I think this helps him maintain some measure of sociability. I believe he is the best place but his life is very difficult.
