View Full Details of Timken GrangeMy mother-in-law has been resident for over 3 years. She has now passed away but over the time she seemed happy and content to be in the care of Timken Grange. Her health deteriorated fairly rapidly and the staff assisted by Marie Curie cared for her and made her passing peaceful and calm for the family members present.
The home is very well kept and very clean, although a bit like a hotel, not very homely. The residents seem well cared for. Most staff are friendly and kind to the residents.. Lots of activities, however some are quite extravagant ignoring more basic, simpler ones. Nice south facing garden which could be beautiful, but doesn't seem to get used much. Whilst my mum appears well cared for it's sad that the things she enjoyed most in life are not made available to her at Timken Grange although I have asked on many occasions. My mum is certainly being looked after well, but not sure she is really living. Whenever I visit the dementia floor everyone is just sitting, but I hoped for a little more from Timken Grange, whilst I am not unhappy with the care at the moment it feels expensive if mum is going to spend most of her time sitting on her own and not getting to enjoy the simple pleasures which have been important to her all her life.
Nan spent nearly 3-and-a-half years at Timken Grange and we could not have asked for better care for her. The staff were caring and patient throughout even when her dementia made her difficult or angry. There were always activities taking place that she was encouraged to be part of and she enjoyed the food and tipple trolley!! Her room was clean and cost as were the other areas and I know she enjoyed being in the lounge for the company of others. Thank you to all at Timken Grange for the work you do.
Visited my nan back in January. My nan is very happy there, The care that is given is the best, she loves being there. It makes me feel at ease knowing that she is happy and provided for and healthy. Thank you so much
The management and staff are very friendly and professional. When I visit there is always a warm welcome from everyone. Much care and consideration are observed when dealing with all residents. All together an enjoyable place to visit at all times.
The Management and staff are very professional and friendly. When I visit there is a warm welcome, a lovely atmosphere and a feeling of happiness in the working environment. The management and staff make everyone feel at home.
The entire team, regardless of position here, go above and beyond to ensure my Mum, Uncle and Auntie receive the best possible care. Their attention to detail is second to none, absolutely nothing is too much trouble. It truly is a 'home from home' that gives family members such peace of mind knowing their loved ones have the care they need.
My father went to live in Timkin Grange Care home in August 2023 at the age of 95. From the moment he moved, his complicated needs were met with so much kindness and empathy and Dad was treated with respect and dignity always. This All-Star Team are amazing in the way they connect with the residents despite the daily pressure and high demand of everyone's needs. I have deep respect for you all and I am eternally grateful to you for your ongoing support to all of our family and understanding during a very difficult time. I know that he appreciated your care and patience, although he probably didn't think to say so due to his mental illness. Thank you so much.
I count it a privilege to write a review about Timken Grange Care Home in Duston. I visit the home at least twice a week to visit my friend, a resident. My friend is very happy there which in turn makes me happy. The staff always go the extra mile to make things run smoothly and have a pleasing manner which relax both visitors and residents alike. I look forward to my visits each week, I always count it a joy.
Dad was there for a couple of years, the carers who looked after him did a fantastic job they made him feel at home there. The management team was just as good, they couldn't have been more helpful. Towards the end of his life the whole team bent over backwards to make him, myself and the family comfortable. Thank you to the Timken team.
Almost immediately after Mum arrived the staff got a smile out of her. The staff at Timken Grange are amazing, and extremely well trained. I appreciated the communication particularly as I live at least 2 hours away from Northampton. On the day mum passed a phone call in the morning, the message clear and professional, had me making my way to Timken Grange in time along with two of my daughters to be with Mum as she passed, a promise I had made to her if I possibly could. I can never thank the carer who made that call enough. A thoroughly lovely touch was the comfort box Timken Grange placed in Mum's room for the use of the family after a palliative diagnosis, it was so appreciated. I have no hesitation in recommending Timken Grange, the registered care manager is enthusiastic, full of energy and has demonstrable knowledge. Her values clearly filter down through the troops and this created absolute confidence that our mum was in a safe and positive environment.
Just wanted to say that the care you offered not only to my father in his final weeks but us his children too was outstanding. We can not thank you enough for the care you gave him in the past two years after his dementia sadly made living at home impossible. You truly made it his home and we were also welcomed with open arms including the family pets! All staff were absolutely superb in their interactions with Dad and showed great respect and consideration. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we can not fault the level of communication from the home on any matters relating to Dad. Sadly the final two weeks we saw your staff shift up another gear in their care especially when it became clear his time was very near. I am only too pleased that Dad was able to pass with not only your staff but also us at his bedside. This gave great comfort to us both and we were under no illusion that the home staff were as affected by his death. I would have no doubt in recommending Timken Grange.
My stepfather died this morning whilst I was on my way to see him. Hearing that he was not on his own when he died was extremely comforting. He died in his sleep with a Senior Carer holding his hand and the nurse outside the room. I'm so aware that this is not the case for many care home residents and feel quite overwhelmed by the care, love and commitment shown by the Timken Grange team. Thank you on his behalf and from myself. We were so lucky to find you.
The care given to my friend was amazing. My friend was only at the care home for a short time, she had dementia. Unfortunately, my friend became unwell and was admitted to hospital for a couple of weeks. My friend returned to Timken Grange but sadly, passed away. In her last few days, the staff treated my friend with dignity, care and kindness, as I spent a lot of time with my friend, the support shown to me throughout was wonderful. A great team. Thank you.
My dad moved into Timken Grange at the end of August 2023, he has dementia. The staff are kind, and respectful and have taken the time to get to know him and have supported us. Any queries and concerns have been dealt with promptly. All aspects of his care have been carefully managed, we have been kept up to date with any changes and the record keeping is meticulous. My dad was poorly in the autumn, the senior carers always took my calls, kept me updated and even called me to let me know when he was having a good day, so reassuring. There's always an activity going on, or a visit out and when my dad was feeling better he joined the trip to the Gaydon Motor Museum and had a good time. The home is well designed, the building is easy to navigate, light, airy and well maintained. Timken Grange is led from the top, all the departments put the residents first. I feel very fortunate a room was available here when we needed it.
Timken Grange staff provide the utmost professional care for my mother who is suffering from Parkinson’s. The staff are very patient and I cannot praise them more. My mother, who at times can get very confused, is well cared for and encouraged to take part in the numerous activities and visits on offer. This was recently demonstrated in the Christmas fun afternoon where residents, staff and family enjoyed live music, mince pies and Christmas activities. Before she became too frail mum was an excellent cake maker and sugar crafter. The home has taken the time to use her original recipe for a Christmas cake and help her make and decorate it in her traditional way. The manager and all the staff are friendly and welcoming, always finding the time to answer any questions or concerns we may have. Thank you.
From the first point of contact, Timken appeared professional, good communication, well run and a generally lovely home. Appealing! And they have exceeded my expectations. Was I happy for Mum to go there? Yes, and I would recommend them. Since Mum went in, she has settled well, been well monitored and has made some socialising improvements. The same goes for food intake and general well-being, which are all positive. I know, albeit difficult that I have made the right decision. Thank you, team Timken.
Mum came to Timken Grange in June this year. I’ve been very happy with everything. The staff are excellent - friendly, kind and caring. The atmosphere is very welcoming and positive within the home. Cleanliness is exceptional and I genuinely feel mum is in the best possible hands.
I have found all the staff kind, helpful and friendly. My mother is always looking well. I am well aware of her disposition and find the staff manager her expectations patiently. The activities are exceptional!
This care home has improved considerably first under the previous owner then Anchor. The current Manager who has been here almost as long as the care home has forged a really good team of carers, housekeeping and activities.
