Thank you for taking the time to bring your experience to our attention. We're aware that during the lunch service you refer to, one of our residents was served a sausage that was pink on the inside, and so asked for it to be taken away as they believed the sausage looked undercooked. All our food is temperature checked before being served to ensure it is safe for our residents. These sausages were tested and the temperatures were recorded at 97 degrees Celsius which means the sausages were thoroughly cooked. The colour was not an indication of the level to which they had been cooked or uncooked. However, an alternative to the sausages should have been immediately offered to the resident, and I sincerely apologise that this was not the case. This has been addressed with all staff to ensure it does not occur again. We take pride in our food quality and service and consider this to be one of our unique attributes as a care home. I hope that this information has addressed your concerns.
