Thank you for you review. We offer personal care to our residents daily in line with their wishes, needs and desires. When people with capacity refuse care we adhere to their wishes and document this in their care plan. We ask relatives to leave residents' rooms when we are supporting with personal care to maintain privacy and dignity unless it is their explicit wish that relatives stay. This is a rare occurrence and to my knowledge has not happened for a long time. We always assisted people that need assistance. We are unable to force residents to drink if they decline, we do record any refusals. We refer residents to our GP, dietitian and the Speech and Language team when required. I am sure that you can empathise people living with dementia wander at times. We strive to communicate with all our residents in the manner that they prefer. My team and I work together to ensure that all our residents receive a high standard of care, I am sorry that you do not think we achieved this.
