In the 7 weeks your mum was with us, she had a total of 3 takeaways. Your mum enjoyed them, just like the other residents do. Takeaways are a treat and most people, whether in a care home or not, enjoy a takeaway. During the other 50-odd days she was with us, she did enjoy a varied, balanced and healthy diet. We still have all the records of what she ate, for anyone wanting to see. I can’t see what is wrong with that, it is normal to enjoy an occasional takeaway. You even complained to CQC about this and we provided them with all our records and they are happy with the mealtimes at Bungay House. She was very underweight when she arrived at Bungay House, just 42.2kg, and she did actually put on a little bit of weight while she was with us. Your mum did fall twice when she was with us, and we felt that we were unable to meet her needs. So it's not a case of refusing to take her back, it's what is in her best interest, is there another care home that would suit her better?
