Ashton Lodge was contacted by the son, DC on the 3/7/23 to express his unhappiness with regards to his mother’s care while away on holiday. This is the complaint in your possession.<br>A response was sent with an apology for distress he experienced. We investigated all his concerns.<br>As explained, his mother is very frail with full limb contractures which complicates movement. She is fully dependent for all activities of daily living including continence care which is scheduled 4 hourly or as required due to her management of constipation with laxatives.<br>With reference to the wax build-up in his mother’s ears, this is a procedure that is undertaken by the GP or the audiology clinic. This has subsequently been addressed.<br>We informed him that we were sorry that he felt he needed to find an alternate placement. Ashton Lodge has been providing care to his mother since 5/03/2018 and at her last Care review with NWL ICB on 13/6/23 no issues around care were raised.
