The gentleman arrived to give the family (Son) respite care due to a decline in health (emergency respite). Granddaughter explained he refused personal care, refused to eat and drink, and could be verbally abusive to staff and tell them to leave him alone. <br>We accepted the gentleman and worked with his family to ensure the admission was as smooth as possible for the gentleman. <br>The reason for his departure was due to the gentleman being a traveller and he had 13 visitors wanting to visit at the same time. This was explained that the room couldn't accommodate that many relatives at the same time due to health and safety, however, we could accommodate his visits in the main lounge/conservatory. The gentleman and family declined this offer as he didn't want to leave his bed. The family then decided to take the gentleman home as he wanted to spend his final days at home around family.
