Our staffing grid is currently worked out against residents’ dependency in the home. We work to the correct level. If the home was short staffed, we have a system in place to use our own internal agency or an external agency. We also use a whole-home approach as all staff working at Defoe Court are trained in at least 1 other department. We have four trolleys a day where the residents are offered hot/cold drinks and snacks. We also ensure residents have access to fluids in their own room 24 hours a day and snacks are also available 24 hours a day that residents can access.
