We feel deeply sorry that you feel you have to address these issues on a public website and that your fathers' respite did not meet your expectations. At Beverley Grange we strive to provide both the highest standard of care for all our residents and the best possible experience we can for our resident's families. Our CQC rating lists Beverley Grange as good across the board and outstanding in terms of responsiveness and we strive to maintain and improve on that. It would not be appropriate to go into detail about your father's care in public. If you wish to discuss your father's care needs please contact the home. Your father was admitted to Beverley Grange into an ICB bed funded by health Following the review that you have placed on this website as part of our protocol it would have been advisable to speak to the nurse who was looking after your father or the manager. You state your father was left for days in the same soiled clothing, your father was asked every day if staff could assist him with his washing and dressing and at times he declined as he had already done this task himself, staff promote independence with ICB residents as they are here for rehabilitation prior to going home or their social worker finding another placement so another rehab patient can be placed. These patients who are in the ICB beds are here for a short period of time for rehab to go back into the community either with a package of care or to live independently. The family were informed that it was difficult to maintain his hygiene. your father was assisted with bathing on 3 occasions prior to retiring to bed as this was his preferred choice. Bed changes are undertaken when residents have a bath or if the bed linen becomes soiled or is dirty this is done with the permission of the resident so as not to cause offence or embarrassment we don't allow residents to live in dirty beds. We have had numerous patients who have decided that they wish to remain at Beverley Grange. This is not our usual practice and find it disturbing that you did not raise these issues with management whilst your father was a resident. It is not our usual practice but every concern is taken seriously and used as a learning tool.
